Indian forces alert surprises Pakistan.

Islamabad—Peace initiatives received a fresh setback when India on Monday put its armed forces on alert and New Delhi was preparing for a “Unified Commanders Conference” which will be attended by top commanders of all the three services on April 24.

The news of alertness of Indian armed forces along Pakistan’s frontiers also coincided with final touches to the launching of India’s longest-range Agni-V missile which can reach not only every corner of China but also Europe and Middle East.

What surprised Pakistani defence observers is the fact that Indian Defence Minister AK Antony on Monday asked the armed forces to be “more vigilant” following small-scale isolated attacks in Kabul. “The situation in ****** region continues to be a cause of concern,” the Indian minister argued and asked his top Army commanders to remain vigilant along border with Pakistan. Antony asked the commanders to be more vigilant and to take appropriate steps in the light of yesterday’s developments in Afghanistan which saw a series of suicide bomb attacks, Defence Ministry officials said. On April 10, Antony had also addressed the top commanders of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and had expressed confidence over the state of preparedness of the three armed services.

Indian Defence Minister is now expected to address the Unified Commanders Conference on April 24.

Defence experts have noted that while speaking peace in the region, India has embarked on a spree of purchase of billions of dollars worth of military, air force and naval hardware. New Delhi has built Agni- V which is the longest-range ballistic missile and inducted nuclear submarines in recent weeks.

Agni-V missile system has the capability for speedy deployment and a a range of over 5,000 km. Agni-V will also have the capability to carry multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles (MIRV) and payload will be able to deliver up to 10 nuclear warheads in a single launch assigned to different widely separated targets.

Agni 5 is for China not Pakistan.

Why to surprise? He simply want to stay vigil as Taliban is highly active as they have carried out missions in Pak and Afghan. He doesn't want similar kind of adventure in India. So simple.

Agni V means nothing to us as our missiles are capable of reaching all the corners of India.

Terrorists have gone on rampage in Afghanistan and Pakistan (attack on prison).

What do you want India to do if not go on alert?

.
Indians makes me laugh so hard, when they try to act like something involves them. India is not even Afghanistan's neighbor and they are protecting themselves from the taliban?

lolz

This is whole article is pointless, and If an Indian can point out the writer's thesis, I will give him a biscuit.

This is whole article is pointless, and If an Indian can point out the writer's thesis, I will give him a biscuit.

Staying alert from the rampages that are happening in the neighborhood is the point of the article.

You need to eat that biscuit yourself.

It was mentioned to underscore the point that "peaceful" India is anything but.

So just asking army to be more vigilant on a border which is know to witness illegal and suspicious activity on daily basis makes our country less peaceful.....

And Your's nation who hide OBL...where training camps operate and where all the planning for global terrorism is done is the most peaceful nation on earth ....

Right ...........

. .
So you think the Indian Maoists and the Taliban terrorists are the same?

I am warning you...THINK AGAIN

My point is that it's hilarious to be issuing statements to combat an arbitrary threat.

And where does the Angi V missile fit into this?

This article is weak.

My point is that it's hilarious to be issuing statements of to combat an arbitrary threat.

The attacks by Taliban 2 days ago were the worst ever in the last decade in Afghanistan......coupled with a massive strike on Pakistani prison and 400 terrorists running away....cant be taken lightly....those 400 may land up in Kashmir too...cant take chances...
