What a story! I like stories with happy endings. I particularly love the part of the having a second child just to save their first one. I mean it already is a great pleasure to give birth to a healthy girl. And, on top of that, the girl also saved her brother. It must have brought tremendous happiness to the family.

True, especially when the Indian lady already has found her mama, baba, in China, apart from her real parents.

Agree. Goes to tell that people are people everywhere. They trade kindness with kindness.

I hope China can relax the immigration law a little bit. There is mounting pressure from the public about this. A civilized, confident society is one that is open minded and welcoming to all people. Denying people who have lived and contributed to the country for years is unfair and inhuman. Yes China is already over populated, but with proper screening policy immigration will never add any significant populate pressure. The current law is so strict that it is even blocking talented overseas Chinese, our own people, from coming back. This got to be fixed.

If they are real talents, they will be given huge chances here. If u see cases in which overseas Chinese find it hard to return, they are simply not good enough.

Here it goes again. There are one billion people in your country, everyone is allowed to ask for anything. The result? The same as you didn't ask at all.

It takes a huge crowd to change the mind of your politicians. How do you mobilize the crowd? Through media. How do you access the media? With money. Who has the money? The rich people, the special interest groups. So who really CAN ask the govt to do something? Who really controls the govt?

You really don't think we understand how your "democracy" works? How has it worked out in your country?

Very few...And live is not the right word, work is better. There is no way for average Indians to seek PR in China. Like scientists, who have published at least two works in Nature/Science, they may be granted with PR.

I'd assume the language would be the barrier? The only reason why I asked is because that's one of the reasons the Indian community in Japan is also relatively small; there's about 20,000 or so in Japan. Tho it's rising recently and most are researchers or academics / students.

It's not about language, one can easily live in Shanghai without speaking Chinese. I admit the criteria of PR is too high, and every case will be studied in national level...I have said before, a professor in my school even has a recommendation letter from Shanghai mayor and has several projects, but no results after several years. He is not good enough and has to go to PSB to renew his work visa every 1-2 years.

Well, there are enough Indians to get organized for a blood donation campaign in a small southern China city. The pictures below show they are doing that in an effort to save a Chinese girl who has leukemia.

The words is that 76 local Chinese donated blood to an Indian expat who fell ill while in that city a year earlier. Now many Indians people volunteered to try to return the favor.

Hmmm! Seems like the immigration system in PR is as stringent (if not more) than Japan's.....LOL!
