ISLAMABAD: Pakistan summoned India's deputy ambassador to protest over a threatening phone call received at Sindh governor's official residence from India, Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said on Monday.

The FO spokesman said that the Indian Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. J.P.Singh, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday by the Director General (South Asia & SAARC), Dr. Muhammad Faisal, who informed the ambassador about the threatening phone call received at the official residence of Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad Khan

The call received on October 23 threatened to blow up Governor House, located in Karachi, with explosives.

Intelligence and law enforcement agencies were informed about the threat which sprung into action and tightened the security around the building.

"Details of the call were also shared with him and it was requested that Government of India may have the matter investigated and share results with Pakistan at the earliest," said Khalilullah.

The Indian deputy ambassador was summoned yet again on Monday to lodge protest over the unprovoked ceasefire violations by India during the nights of 23rd, 24th and 25th October at Shakargarh and Zafarwal Sectors of the Working Boundary.

The Indian diplomat was told that as a result of latest ceasefire violations by the Indian Border Security Forces three civilians, including a teenage girl, were killed and 23 others injured.

Those killed as a result of firing included 30-year-old Waris, Muhammad Husain, aged 15 years and 15-year-old Saba.

"While expressing deep concern over these unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian side at the Working Boundary, Pakistan called upon India to stop forthwith the ceasefire violations and respect the 2003 Ceasefire Arrangement for restoration of peace and tranquility at the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary," the FO spokesperson further said.

Earlier this year, incidences of ceasefire violations across the LoC rose sharply, prompting the Pakistan Army to register a complaint with the United Nations Military Observers group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).

The UNMOGIP sent a fact-finding team to Saleh Pur, Chaprar and Malane in Chaprar Sector near the working boundary.

Tensions along the LoC began flaring up again despite an hour-long meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Ufa, Russia in July.

After cross-border firing took place along the LoC on Eidul Fitr, the Foreign Office lodged a strong protest with India over what it referred to as the "offensive posture" of Indian security forces and a provocative act against the spirit of the Ufa understanding.

Unfortunate incident. Sindh has a substantial Hindu population. The RSS should be allowed to re-open a shakha in Karachi. This is to enable Sindhis to build inter religious relations in harmony with their culture.

And get massacred in thousands by extremists. Death wish.
At topic, foreign countries mingling within our borders should not be tolerated. The case should be further investigated.

RSS is not an Indian organization. It is a cultural organization. Karachi had RSS shakhas before. They can have them again. :)

If they promise to remain a peaceful and lawabiding organization they are more than welcome to open their franchise in Karachi (´︶`)
