Indian BSF yet to return kidnapped Bangladeshi photographer
Family sources and locals said BSF captured Shankar Singha intruding into Bangladesh near Kala Sadek BOP on January 1 and took him to their camp with his hands and legs tied with rope and blindfolded with a cloth
UNB, Sylhet-Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is yet to return a Bangladeshi photographer, allegedly kidnapped at frontier village Kala Sadek in Companyganj upazila 27 days ago.The victim was identified as Shankar Singha, son of late Sena Singha of Dhonitila village at Islampur in the upazila
Family sources and locals said BSF captured Shankar Singha intruding into Bangladesh near Kala Sadek BOP on January 1 and took him to their camp with his hands and legs tied with rope and blindfolded with a cloth. His whereabouts is unknown since then. His mother and family members, friends and colleagues have been passing fretful days.
Locals said his mother and other relatives have written applications to BGB Sector Commander in Sylhet and the Director General in Dhaka several times requesting them to take steps to trace the abducted youth but to no effect.
They also tried in vain to contact Indian authorities, including BSF through proper channel.
Following repeated attempts BGB of Kala Sadek BOP and Sylhet sector headquarters could outreach BSF who only said Shankar was arrested by BSF and later handed over to Indian police
