Indian Army plans certain changes in its uniforms

The Indian army is planning certain changes in its uniforms, including in its regularly worn olive green and combat uniforms, officials said.

The army’s top brass discussed the issue recently. Officials in the army explained that some suggestions have been received and are being examined. The suggestions include shifting the position of the cloth rank epaulettes that identifies the regiment and rank of of a soldier, which are worn on the shoulders of the combat uniforms. The suggestion was to move it to the chest of the soldier. This is similar to the way epaulettes are worn in the armies of US, UK and even Pakistan.

Other suggested changes are on the lanyard (cord), which is worn around the shoulder in some uniforms, removing the belt of peace-time uniforms, because its buckle is much bigger than that of a normal belt and therefore can get uncomfortable. One suggestion is for modifying the shirt and trousers in certain uniforms.

No we, didn't we simoly decided it was time to move on from 90s era cartoonish pattern to NATO standard practice. SSG is still stuck with it tho.

What do you mean we copy? You copied the Pattern and Style of American Uniforms For generations now after replacing British Style Uniforms. US never copied anything from you. Many countries around the world has adopted US/NATO Style Patterns or Camo so India having similar style doesn’t make it copying.

The US Army has trained and given weapons to your Army since the 1950s to 2010s. The British Support and training ended in majority by 1950s. The US took over after the british. Many units in your military like your Special Forces the SSG or Pakistani Marines or Pakistani Rangers were all inspired and Trained by the US. You copied the US uniforms and Patterns. The Camo And uniform used by your SSG which is a US woodland Pattern with Older BDU style uniform came from the US. The US has influence over many states over in Asia, Europe and Middle East including over there military fashion, Training and Weapons.
