A bus of pilgrims on Amarnath Yatra moving through Islamabad district of Indian held Kashmir met an accident, resulting in deaths of two people including the driver. In a video on social media recorded at a local hospital, a pilgrim from Utar Pardesh explains that they arrived with their convoy for Amarnath Yatra here in Kashmir and could not leave Baltal for two days.
"I tried to ask the crossing cars for help, but nobody stopped", he says while describing their fearful condition, "Indian Army vehicles passed by, I asked them for help, but they did not stop, I appealed again and again to the Army people but nobody stopped. Then, I saw one person standing there and asked him for help. Several people came out from the street and helped us". He continued.
"These people broke open the bus, the windows and doors and rescued us, nobody else, the "Sena"(army) neither the police helped us. These people brought us to the hospital in ambulances, we are being provided every facility, we don't need anything more".
He finishes off in an emotional tone,"I say, if you wish to learn humanity, learn it from these Kashmiri people".
The incident occured amidst the chaos that unfolded in Indian Held Kashmir after the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani, public protests led to the killings of at least 35 civilians at the hands of the Indian Army.
