and most amazing fact is that many small countries with much smaller budget have much better equipped soldiers then us.Every year you see that the general infantry (I'm not talking about SF or RR) still look like they are equipped from pre-WW2, it's not even a joke anymore- how can the IA be standing still to this extent (and have been for decades seemingly)? Of course we know the answer- they continue to invest in MASSIVE (and redundant) manpower instead of equipment. This regressive mindset is why they make fools of themselves whilst the IN and IAF strive ahead.

What do you mean? Their helmets and webbing are distinctly ancient and WW2-esque, addtionally the lack of any communication equipment, modern PPE etc etc all reinforce this notion.What do you mean? What looks like wwII era equipment?

i mean basic needs like ballistic helmet,decent bpjs,communication systems are only coming in our special forces,so it will be quite a lot of time after we will see some significant progress.
If we could afford..we would.Everything that a modern soldier needs

This false equivalency is not particuarly helpful friends. It is not about absolute budgets but budget/allocation per soldier. The IA may receive a relatively massive absolute budget each year but don't forget this has to be cover over a MILLION soldier's operational expenses (salaries and such) only then whatever capital expenses they can afford with such huge overheads existing.Baltic states (who have budgets that barely hits 500 millions of € ) have better equipped soldiers.
Haha, so they need basically everything. I agree with your assesment though- it all needs to be done.After i compared French and Indian soldiers,i'd say that Indian soldiers need ;
New helmets ;
Lack of desert uniforms ;
New resistant and modern boots ;
New assault rifles (with sights) ;
NVGs maybe ?
New modern body armors ;
New communication systems ;
Ballistic glasses ;
Knee pads ; (Not really what is urgently needed.)
Everything that a modern soldier needs.

I think Australia has the highest soldier allocation in the world (or something like that) with $27,000 USD spent on every frontline soldier's kit, which is why they look like:
^ this is an average GI, not even SOF!
Australia is 14th(?) largest defence spender in the world- India is 7th/8th.

This is what FINSAS was meant to do but that has been unfathombly delayed and split into two elements- BMS and personal equipment. The BMS side is going very well actually, the personal equipment element on the other hand is nowhere to be seen.
FINSAS (as it was then) proposals:
God knows what has happened to the personal equipment side of the FINSAS project.
To be fair, ammo issues have largely been addressed. Despite all of former COAS Bikram Singh's bluster about modernising the Indian soldier under his watch (which ended with no tangible difference to be seen), he did address the ammo crisis of the IA. Now all combat units have more mandatory range time and operational units (deployed in active ops) have a far higher allocation for both training and ops.I am sorry, but I would be much happier if Indian soldiers could get adequate amount of ammunition, a decent battlefield rifle, and a quality sidearm. When every other day , IA runs out of ammo, i doubt EOtech sights would do much for him.
Amidst all this doom and gloom (that I admit I started ), I would point out that the IA has been, relatively, good at keeping the critical requirements of the CT (counter terror)/COIN (counter insurgency) units (RR and such) and SF met:
Rashtriya Rifles (RR):
Special Forces (PARA (SF) ):
Also, some pretty good news, Rudras at the Army Day 2016 demo:
