Indian agenda of cutting Pakistan to size - The Nation
In the last one fortnight everything and everyone appears to be charged up. The PM says that he asked for Hussain Haqqanis resignation. Now he says Haqqani resigned himself. The PM says the memo is to be trashed despite setting up of an all parties commission and knowing that the matter is under active consideration of the SC. One day he says we pay the Army as if our Army is a mercenary lot and there cant be a state within a state. The next day by state he means the Secretary of Defence. When the Army Chief dispels all rumours and says the Army supports Democracy everything he has said the PM retracts. When the Army insists that the memo is real and wants the SC to get to its bottom, the PM says that he requested the COAS and DG ISI to accept extensions and makes headlines the COAS and DG ISI are not being dismissed!
Dont we know the sinister connections of more than 20 years of Mansoor Ijaz with the US establishment or his clandestine visits to IHK and his consistent anti-Pakistan publications? Have we forgotten the anti-Army book written by Hussain Haqani when he was in exile in the US and who asked and paid him to do so and defame the Pakistan Army. What about his role in the Kerry Lugar bill? Can they both not be collaborators conniving with one purpose, a hidden agenda! Conditions are ripe for the implementation of this agenda, thanks to records of poor governance and rampant corruption. There are no trains, no airlines, no gas, no electricity. Grave financial irregularities are galore. Banks have been milked dry, inflation has remained double-digit for years. Government lifestyle has been royal, the education sector is in a mess, foreign investment touching zero. At the same time there are no new nation-building projects. The Steel Mills is now on the verge of collapse. Balochistan is a high priority only to the extent of TV statements.
Two years ago, I was in Delhi. On a private TV Channel one evening a former Indian Army Chief told an interviewer that to cut Pakistan to size, one need not fight their Army on the battlefield, but to create conditions where the Pakistani public loses its respect and love for its Army and the intelligence services. Create a wedge, and continue to widen it and Pakistan will fall in your lap like ripe fruit. We are a nuclear state. The TIME magazine says our nuclear programme is better and more modern then our adversarys and that Pakistan has more in its nuclear inventory (than India and Israel). Our geo-strategic location precludes anyone elses land interference (logistic support included) into Afghanistan and Central Asia. The Northern Distribution Network that the Americans offer as an alternative runs through 16 countries including Moscow. Only 20 percent can come through the North. 80 percent must go through Pakistan. We are the largest provider of UN Peace keeping troops. Not one Pakistani was ever a part of Al-Qaeda. A stable Pakistan is in the interest of the region. Half of the Pashtuns, currently willfully left out by Afghanistan and India, reside in Pakistan. They are the majority in Afghanistan. As soon as the Americans leave a very bitter civil war will ensue between the left out majority and the pampered Northern Alliance minority. It appears that the agenda to dismember Pakistan willy-nilly is well in motion. Defang the nuclear capability, cut the army to size, defame the ISI and redraw the map of Pakistan is what this plan is all about. The sad part is that you do not need any external help to do so. We are our own biggest enemy.
