India has ruled out increasing its naval presence in the South China Sea, saying it is just concerned about uninterrupted and safe passage of its ships for trade. The Defence Minister A K Antony today, however, said that India will keep visiting these waters for naval excercises to protect its core areas of interest. Mr. Antony was talking to newspersons in New Delhi this morning on the sidelines of the ongoing Armed Forces Commander's conference.
On Chinese Army's presence in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, ***, the Minister said they are present in the area since a long time. He said India is aware of the fact and has conveyed its concern to China also. Mr. Antony said, for the last several years, India has strengthened its capabilities in the Eastern sector on its own territory.
The Defence Minister added that the country will receive the refitted Gorshkov warship next year.
