India will gift six Kiran jet trainers to Myanmar

.
As per the agreement, IAF pilots will also be deputed to Myanmar to train Myanmar Air Force pilots.
Myanmar will send 12-16 pilots a year to IAF Academy in Dundigal.

. . . . .
Bangladesh should thank us. Kiran is a shitty trainer with poor safety record. :D

. . . .

Shouldn't we be looking at exporting HTT-40s once they are up and running? Seriously, why are we committing a brand harakiri by giving off older assets?

Myanmar wants Rudras.

LCH would make sense for them considering their fight against Rohingya terrorists and the other jihadi groups operating in their country.

We must thank them in a better way for cooperating against terrorists between India and Myanmar.

. .
.
By this action, India wants to achieve two things.
1 - Get rid of their falling junk, and since they can't sell their for-ever-under-development Teja's
2 - To stay relevant in Maynmar after their latest acquisition of Pakistani JF-17's.

Nope mate. I think by gifting planes, India has secured the placement of it's IAF personnel in Myanmar which will help in keeping an eye on military activities with China/Pakistan. If Myanmar is buying JF-17 from Pakistan, I guess India will now get access to them for study etc. Besides, places are gifts, their maintenance is not.

.
China and Pakistan should just cancel the JF-17 deal, there is now way we can compete
