Bodhgaya: Exiled Tibetans and monks took out a march in Bodhgaya on Sunday, urging the Indian government to discuss and take up the issue of gross human rights violation inside Tibet allegedly by Chinese forces before the United Nations.
They took a round of the Mahabodhi Mahavihara Temple, holding photographs of Dalai Lama, candles and placards reading ''Save lives of Tibetans in Tibet'' and chanting prayers.
Addressing a news conference, a member of exiled Tibetan Parliament, Dawa Tsering, said their compatriots inside Tibet are facing atrocities by the Chinese administration and are not allowed to practice their culture and religion.
"We have called a press conference in Bodhgaya to explain the current situation inside Tibet. Since 2009, around 95 of our brothers and sisters have resorted to self-immolation because their rights are violated. They are not allowed to talk in their language or practice their culture and religion. We want freedom of Tibet and also let Dalai Lama enter into Tibet,” said Tsering.
“A resolution must be passed on this matter and a letter should be written in this regard to the UN and their Human Rights Commission. The Indian government must clear their stand that the human rights violation happening in Tibet is against the international law and human being. So, we have come to seek help from Indian to implement human right laws in Tibet,” he added.
Scores of Tibetans had reportedly committed self-immolation against what they termed as rising atrocities by Chinese administration.
