Riiiiggghhhttt..... Fire the Brahmos at any US carrier in the Indian ocean, US will bring out the big stick..

Brahmos is a Universal missile which can be fired from Scorpene if they choose to, otherwise Exocet comes handy...

I don't think its true....everything depends on launcher. A launcher can be universal and if it is on Scorpene, then its possible. But yeah reports are there that Brahmos will be installed on Scorpene.

Its not because of any weapon, but because of politics. Of course if India resort to policies that are detrimental to global interest, than US will continue to send carrier task forces to Indian Ocean and something 100 times more dire for Indian than 1971 will happen.

What do you know about submarines?
The report said the following:

A ring will have to be fitted in the existing pontoon for fitting-in the BrahMos which has a relatively smaller diameter than the K-15 SLBM.

Why the ring was fitted, for what specific reason my dear omniscient??

Because Indian military might has changed in such a way that US carrier could be brought down with the help of Brahmos, TU bombers, and submarines with supersonic missiles - before it was not like that. Now thats on pure technical military matters, and no politics.

If the push comes to shove that is, nobody said of India challenging US navy - but otherwise, as it happened in 1971, when India was ill prepared, and was relying on soviet union shoulders to lean on, all that happened - but no more....

True, India would not be able to lean on the rsoviet union shoulder as the soviet shoulder is no more. So India is wisely device a foreign policy that would not confront that of US. For example, by not pressing the issue on Diego Garcia as an Indian leader (I forgot who) foolishly said that the presence of the US navy is a threat against the US. Indian interest is best served when the US Navy ensure the freedom of passage around Indian Ocean.

But as India is showing friendly attitutes toward the US, there should only be friendship between the two countries. The relationship between the two nations would continue to improve if India allow US to base the headquarter of the 5th fleet in Kochi. US will guarantee that no one would dare to attack India.
