Government to accept online visa applications from Pakistani Hindus
NEW DELHI: As a first step to grant Indian citizenship to nearly 60,000 Hindu refugees from Pakistan, government has rolled out an online system for submission of Long Term Visa (LTV) application and for its processing by various agencies.

The decision has been taken by the Home Ministry to address the difficulty being faced by Hindu minorities of Pakistan who come to India with the intention to settle permanently, official sources said.

So far, all such visa applications have been accepted manually. Pakistani nationals eligible for LTV can now submit the applications online by logging in Online FRRO Form

The new system will enable the applicants to monitor and track their applications and will also help in their speedy disposal.

While the manual system of submission of LTV applications will continue along with the online system for three months with effect from August 1, 2015, all applications for LTV will be received and processed only on the online mode.

Ever since Narendra Modi-led government came to power in May last year, the Home Ministry has taken a number of steps to streamline the procedure for the members of the minority communities of Pakistani, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who come to India with the intention to settle permanently.

In September 2014, the Home Ministry has set up a task force to monitor and expedite the processing of such people's citizenship and LTV applications.

Delay in processing applications cause hardships and difficulties to applicants, especially to minorities from neighbouring countries who are often of poor economic standing.

There are about 400 Pakistani Hindu refugee settlements in cities like Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jaipur. There are around 60,000 Hindu refugees from Pakistan, official sources said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had, during the Lok Sabha election campaign, said in separate rallies in West Bengal and Rajasthan that Pakistani and Bangaladeshi Hindu refugees will be treated like other Indian citizens.

Hopefully, Pakistan will do its utmost best to help the Hindus migrate to India as soon as possible.

Also, if India is willing to pay, maybe Pakistan can dig up their temples and export them to India accordingly.

Finally, India must ensure non of the migrants ever dream of returning to Pakistan.

All Indian Muslims are welcome in Pakistan.

That could be offensive depending on how you meant it, but I expect it here. So you wish India to dig up all your mosques here and send it over to you people along with the Muslims? We might even fore go the charge.

Pakistan should reject this or deny passports to Pakistani hindus, discriminatory action required discriminatory response.

Excellent news. 'Seculars' may burn. As long as they stay in Pakistan as Pakistanis, they are not my headache, but as the inheritors of the same civilization in our country - they are welcome to live a life without fear of being killed or converted.

That would run foul of International human rights, geneva conventions as well. Exit control over masses is now illegal after Hitler stopped Jews from migrating out to kill them in German controlled areas.

That said, I welcome the move of the Government.

how will they identify who are hindus?? End of the day, all u ppl look the same :-/
Name, background checks, a whole host of other aspects used. Its pretty common, I wonder why you are even asking this question.

Not all Indians Muslims. But many will like to go and they are free to go. you can send the remnants of the temples here as well, if you can. We won't have any grudge. Once and for all a matter will be solved. You will be happy. We will be happier.

Curious, how many Indian muslims have applied for Pakistani citizenship in the last decade?

Giving nationality to Hindu migrants is just like fifth generation Tejas - They will die with refugee status.

This is for Hindu refugees living in India.

Are you serious? Where you are going to keep all Indian Muslims?

As far as Hindus refugees are concerned, it's failure of state of Pakistan that it can't protect the minorities and can't give them equal rights. Why you are blaming people?

The state is made up of the people, if you really believed that minorities deserved equal rights they would have had them by now at least by law even if not in practice. I am not saying there are no Pakistanis who believe in equality, for sure there are, but the vast majority think that minorities are not their equal. ( read Aatish taseer 's book about his Pakistani dad and what this broad minded man who eventually laid down his life protecting a Xian woman actually said in private about your minorities - it will be an eye opener )

Xians are seen as low class toilet cleaning trouble makers and Hindus as fodder for kidnapping and/or conversion. Ahmedis the less said the better.
