I'm sorry. I'm deviating from the topic.
I just wanted ppl to know how Economic times, world bank and Bloomberg have found a way to circumvent India's map laws.

You find it funny?
I'm seriously thinking of reporting it. Damn! Don't know who to approach.
I have tagged a few reporters in my tweet, hope that helps.

Why not try the India govt e-portals? People put all kinds of complaints there.

Can also try tweeting it to some journos/bigwigs etc like you said.

.

I normally don't use the language, but in this case consecutive government after government have been responsible for this huge mess.
A special mention here about Mumbai Port (JNPT).
The port is highly congested and takeoff time for a container is so poor, people really get frightened about movement of material after custom clearance to further north.
Railways were saying this for long that freight movement from JNPT to outside Municipal limits of Mumbai itself takes 2-3 days and had Western DFC commissioned earlier, the picture would've changed drastically. It would've made JNPT efficient and Kandla Port even bigger in terms of freight handling capacity. Alas DFC is still 3 years away and by that time a lot of freight handling opportunity would be lost.
China in the mean time developed a far superior rail route connecting Central Asia and beyond to Europe. this is slated to become next super highway of land based freight movement from Asia.

@ranjeet which app is it that was launched by the govt for reporting misleading and sensationalising news articles?

Very creative indeed! There are some very smart people out there. :cheesy:

I find it very interesting: @Nilgiri tries to SOAR HIGH on each and every positive report, and @anant_s tries to bring him back to ground reality. Both are Indian patriots, but from different perspective. Personal view, the critical thinking from elites is crucial to real social development.

Anant was responding to the silk road thing that levina posted as part of her map complaint lol.

The kpmg report covers a lot of subjects, not just logistics....and Anant saab will be the first one to tell you what this govt has been like in relation to the previous one regarding the logistics :P

I agree with him 100% that this is just the start and we have a long way to catch up....but it doesn't mean there is any more sick lethargy and reverse movement like in the last govt.

It can be summarized quite well in just one picture:

The ground water table, they say, has improved in Rajasthan. Thanks to the water harvestment systems adopted by farmers.

I would take 3rd party reports more seriously than those from Indian Gov or from the consulting firms authored by Indians for a logical reason, just like I would not quote China's Global Times.

India is making progress, no doubt, but Soars High? Which India we are talking about? I am sorry, but I always view India as two different entities, First India and Second India.

I had written an article on it sometime back(will have to find the link).
Guess the reason why ISRO has taken up the project to locate Saraswati river???
To map underground water!
The river dried up 7000 years ago due to certain cataclysmic event but it's water is still trapped under the ground.
Some farmers across the border have already taken advantage of it, and have dug bore wells.

Crop rotation is supposed to be a good natural way to restore nutrients back to the soil. Not sure if farmers follow it anymore.
