After getting the shock and surprise of their life, the Indians came up with an absurd excuse by waving to the media a wreckage piece of said to be from an AIM-120C AMRAAM Missile with claims that it was fired from a PAF F-16. Since Pakistani authorities said that no F-16s wetre used in the operation, so in hindsight the Indians were crying to the Americans that your weapons in Pakistani hands are killing us. Although it's not difficult to stencil the markings on any piece of wreckage and the serial number leads it to a batch supplied to Taiwan with whom Pakistan has no diplomatic relations, none the less, PAF does have these missiles in it's armoury. It's also ironic that a weapon travelling over Mach-3 which disintegrates upon impact still had such a part intact and that too where all the details are apparent.
However, lets assume this is indeed a piece from an AMRAAM fired by a PAF F-16 at an Indian target, we know one Indian MiG-21 went down inside Pakistan so this piece couldn't have been from that and was recovered from Indian side of LOC, which can only mean that the victim of the said missile also went down on the Indian side. Although there are several eyewitnesses who claim to have seen at least two aircraft going down, one on each side of the LOC, Indian authorities, however, haphazardly have so far admitted to losing just one MiG-21 which they said went down in Pakistan. So the question remains, where did the Indians recovered the wreckage of the missile. It's obviously an air to air weapon so hitting some ground target with it is out of question. Which only leaves the possibility that whatever this missile struck, it went down on the Indian side. Now was that the helicopter which same day crashed some where in IOK or was it something more prized which the Indians feel too embarrassed to disclose.
So in essence by waving this piece of missile wreckage, the Indians have thus shot themselves in the foot by revealing a second loss....what it was is anyone's guess.

Indeed. I have already mentioned that this ill thought action is a report card being waved to the public, that Indian Air Force is an embarrassment to their country. A Full Foxtrot.

I wonder.. what is the logic processing in the Mind of Indians who came up with this claim?
they using a piece of a weapon to claim that they destroyed its shooter?

its like someone pulling a bullet out of his arse and saying he killed the sniper and this bullet is the claim?

lol? really?

Adding further 120-c is BVR means our F-16 fired this missile remaining very well at least 50 kms inside our territory by Indian logic so question is how India shot down a plane which is very well deep inside our side?

Thats the bummer in this whole situation.

Either they recovered it from their second downed jet, or the heavenly stars aligned in such a way that an AIM-120 C5 fired from an F-16 (and which missed it's target), with a range of 100+ km, was recovered in Rajauri (right next to the border), with a whole piece intact in such a manner that the identification details are clearly visible.

To put out some reference for you folks, Spanish EF Typhoon accidentally launched an AIM-120 (in Aug 2018), and the whole of NATO couldn't find the damn thing even after searching for 3 months. It was then called off iirc.

27 Feb is a day Indians would remember as worst day of their history in 21st century at all levels be it military or diplomatic front.
That would happen to any state when forces would tow their operational lines with political gains of rulers.
Modi is a seasoned hard cold calculating political bastard who should have been put down after Gujrat massacre.
he is being exposed by Indians themselves that he escalated for his political gains and put the lives of Indians and Pakistanis and Kashmiris at risk.

Reading the posts above and then thinking imagine if the shoe was on the other foot?

Imagine if it was the Pakistani establishment that claimed this absurdity.

food for thought?

Not saying that we shot down that mi17 in Budgam but that mi17 crashed just around 10 minutes after MiG 21 bison was shot down at loc

Coincidence??

Let's keep our mouths shut and kill enemy at loc for now :)

It most definitely must have been recovered from their plane wreckage then, I am absolutely confident that it hit their Sukhoi.
