India traced an accused in a Mumbai jail, from the fugitive list regarding the Mumbai attacks.

The Indian government had to face yet another embarrassing moment when another accused, in the list of 50 fugitives given to Pakistan, was traced in a Mumbai jail. The list consists of fugitives accused in the Mumbai attacks.

Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan was accused in the 1993 Mumbai bombing. On suspicion of his presence in Pakistan, he was included in the 50 most wanted fugitives list. On the contrary, Feroz Abdul Rashid had been serving his sentence in the Arthur Jail in Mumbai.

Feroz Abdul Rashid was on number 24 in the fugitive list. His presence in a Mumbai jail has been a source of embarrassment for India. In the first instance, Wazhul Kamar Khan who was accused in the 2003 Mulund bombing was found residing in India. The Indian Home minister recognized and admitted to his mistake.

Glaring errors in CBI's list of country's most wanted

MUMBAI/HYDERABAD: The CBI's larger list of the country's most wanted has glaring errors. The Star 50 was culled from this musteroll, new names added from NIA and Mumbai Police and handed over to Pakistan recently.

From Hyderabad came the story of two dreaded terrorists, who the list claimed were hiding in Pakistan. One of them, TOI investigations revealed, is dead and the other lodged in the city's Cherlapalli prison.

More howlers were reported from Mumbai. Dawood Ibrahim's elder brother, Noora, who died of kidney failure in Karachi last year, continued to show up as a wanted accused in the red-corner notice against his name.

Chhota Rajan aide Ejaz Pathan, involved in the 1993 serial blasts, died in 2008 at Arthur Road jail after a heart attack. The red-corner notice against him showed him as wanted.

Yet another embarrassing case was that of Feroze Abdul Khan, an accused in the 1993 Mumbai blast. He was nabbed from Navi Mumbai last year and is in a Mumbai jail. He was handed over to the CBI after arrest. Yet, he is supposed to be one among the wanted.

A senior CBI official admitted that the agency had messed up in the Pathan case but refused to accept blame for the Noora problem. "We are yet to get official confirmation on Noora's death in Pakistan last year. So, how can we say he his dead," he asked. Though other agencies maintained that the intelligence bureau had sent a confidential report to the Union home ministry intimating it of Noora's death.

It was common knowledge in Mumbai Police circles that then crime branch chief Rakesh Mariah who arrested Khan was irked after CBI abruptly took his custody. Officials said the crime branch wanted to question Khan as he had been a member of the Dawood gang.

TOI investigations in Hyderabad showed Mohammed Abdul Shahed, aka Shahed Bilal, alleged commander of the Bangladesh-based HuJI in south India is dead. Shaikh Abdul Khaja alias Mohammed Amjad, the organisation's second in command in the region, has been cooling his heels in a Hyderabad prison. Both of them figure on the list.

The CBI list calls Bilal dangerous. An Interpol red corner notice A-427/3-2007 was issued on his name for his role in four terror cases. His name came to light first as a conspirator in an aborted plan to assassinate then state BJP president Indrasena Reddy in 2004.

Sometime later, police named Bilal prime accused in the October 12, 2005, suicide bombing of city police commissioner's task force office. But he created a splash when a bomb went off at Mecca Masjid on May 18, 2007 killing nine people.

The Andhra Pradesh police were quick to describe him as mastermind of that terror act. They claimed that Bilal had fled to Pakistan. Later that year, police said Pakistani intelligence had killed Bilal and his brother Mohammed Abdul Samad in Karachi.

In July 2008, he was described in the Gopalapuram police station conspiracy against the state case as an accused ``who is now dead''. While the Centre seems unaware of Bilal's killing, the Andhra Pradesh police insist they have concrete information that ISI agents had eliminated him in Karachi.

On July 30, 2007, Interpol issued a red corner against Mohammed Amjad. His name appears on the list as "Mohammed Amzad".

Police said after Bilal's death, he became HuJI's south India commander. He was nabbed in Chennai. Since his arrest in January 2010, Amjad has been in Cherlapalli jail. But the CBI is unaware of this.

Why are they in Pakistan to begin with? Looks like it the magnet for all the scum of the earth with OBL on the top of the list. Its your GOP stupidity to provide shelter and patronage to rogues and mass murderers.

. .
Goes to show the lists are mostly fake compiled just in time by references of criminal names perhaps from the internet.
Or may be they hold a raffle draw on who gets to be a Pakistani terrorist? Raffle draw game shows are very popular on Indian media.
Think about it? Being a Pakistani terrorist in India can get u lot of fame, fear and reputation from average Indian joe. Im not surprised if indians are already lining up by millions to take part.

India wanted to manipulate the situation and take full advantage of it, but then veggie eating brain did not function fast enough. Their government is full of stupid people.

. .
Cant believe that such stupid mistakes happen at such high levels of the government. A sorry state :(

. .
At least they should have courage to admit their mistakes and Ask Pakistan to return the list.

By going with your logic, if a Serial Rapist is found in US, so will that mean that every Rape in the World originate from US?

they have alredy admitted thier mistake and this story was brought out by indian media itself and when did I.S.I last apologise for the blunder's it committed regarding to hunting down OBL.Atleast we except our mistake's but you are always in the denial mode.

.
I asked Indians only one question, "who make these lists in India ?", but in their over enthusiastic approach to blame Pakistan, forgot to answer this question,

now they should ask their government, why they brought embarrassment to India !

.
Well, the credibility of the list is gone. Well done our great CBI, IB and HM.

Somebody should give them a Nishan-e-Pakistan for highest service to the nation of Pakistan ;)
