'India needs to be part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor'

You are totally mistaken here Pakistan never asks India to hand over kashmir .

All pakistan wants is to give them right to self determination as per UN charter and then let them decide whether they want to join Pakistan , India or wanna be independent.

As I have said, no matter how you put it; if the price is Kashmir, it will remain unpaid.

South Asia should learn something from East Asia, where despite territorial and historic differences, the nations cooperate to unprecedented heights in the realm of trade, and investment. Millions of people travel back and forth between China, Japan, and Korea; despite all three having multiple grievances of all kinds with each other.

Can all of us put aside disputes and make cooperations together temporarily?

Not possible in the current environment. Indian and specially Pakistani thinking have not reached that stage yet.

This type of economic cooperation is certainly possible with china but not with Pakistan in the present circumstances. In future may be such a regional economic pact may happen

India does not lose out much because of CPEC, however it will gain more if in a unrealistic scenario it was to be invited to join CPEC. I think inviting India to CPEC could change the whole dynamics of South Asia. Just think how much good it will do to all of South Asia.

India and Pakistan have both opinions which are poles apart, India wants confidence measure first including economic cooperation and all the disputes to be settled gradually but Pakistan ties all solution with kashmir first. hence the status qup of enmity will continue

ISLAMABAD: India should be included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) if its true promise is to be realised, said a leading Pakistani daily which, however, warned that the military establishment is reluctant to view India through any lens other than one of rivalry.

An editorial in the Dawn on Saturday said that recent visit by the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun raised issues for the government.

"The new challenge was his emphasis on including India in the CPEC vision, thus opening up the doors of the corridor towards the growing economy to the east. Previously, too, Chinese President Xi Jinping had mentioned this in his speech before parliament when he visited Pakistan. The idea should not be dismissed."

The daily said: "If the true promise of the corridor is to be realised, it will be necessary to include Pakistan's neighbours - both east and west - in it. Of course, there are significant hurdles to this."

It added that in Pakistan, "the military establishment is reluctant to viewing India through any lens other than one of rivalry, and in India a right-wing government is similarly averse to responding to any overtures for talks and advancement of peace".

The daily said that for now "it is enough to note that the proposal to open access to the economic corridor for India has credible commitment at the highest levels in China, and if there is any party in the world that can encourage a change in thinking in this country at least, it is the government in Beijing".

The editorial went on to say that it would be better for the government of Pakistan to draw up a more realistic list of projects that they would like to see funded through the AIIB, and use the early years of the bank to build a relationship rather than go for broke with a proposal for a mega dam.

"There is no shortage of infrastructure requirements in Pakistan, and realism shouldn't be very hard to pitch," it added.

It is very very simple. Just give back Pakistan Occupied Kashmir back to India.
Tada !!! India is in CPEC too .....

* that two small island (have dispute with China and S.Korea)and distort WW2 culture that Japan hurt Chinese and S.Korean now arouse our anger.

good for Pakistan, hope it works out well but as others have said, no.

almost all of China's trade, including crude and gas, will continue as is, that is.. regular shipping routes to and from it's population centres in the far east.

not dissing, but I just don't get the hype.

Anyways, CPEC is not be a big changer for India because India too is connect to Arabian sea and India has better ports along the Gujrat and Maharastra coast line.
