We all know the that India was made for the profit by some English shareholders. It was a company called "East India trading" that made India that you know today. The question here is should Indian's do Puja to East India Company because it made India for them.

So should Indian's be thanking this company ( no it is not Mcdonald's ) that did fast food equivalent of making a country? I bet the Indian's wish it had been Mcdonals Fast Food franchise that had come and Made India. That way they would have secretly been enjoying Big Mac meals since 1750 and India would have been called "Big Mac country". No such luck instead India got fathered by boring English "East India Company".

Before East India Company came along to make few pounds most Hindus were playing muppets to Muslims. So much for the Hindutwas of today. So most of these Hindus ought to be thanking the British for giving them "Azadi" from the Muslims overlords. Had they not come maybe today the Hindu's would still have been playing muppets to Muslim rule?

No point denying that Britain played a part in uniting a civilization as a nation-state in the modern European sense of the word. But it did the same to both the wings of Pakistan by uniting Balochistan, East Bengal, West Punjab, NWFP and Sindh. Shame you guys could not even keep that together.

This would otherwise be an interesting thread if the intention was not just trolling.

1. No doubt British east India company/ British government's adventures had a role in organization of political system of India the way it is today.

2. However it would be incorrect to say some company created India. What happened can better be termed as 'transfer of power.'

3. Thread creator's claim that British saved Hindus from Muslim is false and delusional and is the result of Upper caste Muslim and Pakistan military class's false perception of history. By 18th century Islamic era in India was already over.

3. Space for British intervention was created because Indian ruling class failed to unite and create a stable political system and administration.

4. It is Pakistan which was 'created' by British. So I suggest Pakistanis should do Puja or Sajda or whatever to the British masters and East India company.

One of the main reasons behind creation of Pakistan is the Muslim elites, oligarchs and feudal lords feared to be treated as equal. They feared the Congress, which believe it or not, was considered as a common man's party. They feared Nehru, for his take on land reforms. In fact Hari Singh, the last King of Kashmir, despised Nehru for his land reforms.

These Muslim elites had been demanding for a separate constituency on religious basis for long, as they disliked the idea of competition. The same thought process led to the creation of Pakistan, a place created in the name of Islam, where as in reality it was just a continuation of feudalism.

Considering for once that this is not a troll thread, 'India' was well known to the European corporate world much before the British East India Company was even formed. Portugal's Estado Da India was already dominating the pepper market in the 16th century. England was just among other many European countries like the French, Netherlands, Denmark, Prussia, Russia or Sweden to launch maritime ventures across South and South East Asia. India already existed while the first writer of the company set foot at India. This is why I feel the thread failed to meet its objective in the beginning itself.
