LAC doesn't mean "lose" territory.
Indo-Tibet border has never been demarkated since history.
India and China were never neighbouring countries for all of history... hence there never was an India-China border.
Off course, things changed when china invaded Tibet in 1959 .. and continued onwards to enter parts of Ladakh. (Ladakh never was a part of Tibet, leave alone china). Anyway, that's all known history.
Its in everybody's interest to maintain peace and solve the issue only by negotiations.
China's latest act doesn't help negotiations. though Indian govt has acted responsibly by not going for a tit-for-tat.
If chinese govt is wise, they will find a way (or excuse) to go back to status-quo prior to the incident.
Hitler craved for Danzing, and lost Germany in the process. Wise people learn from history, fools repeat the same mistakes over and over. If china couldn't change anything in 1962, it is naive to think that it can change anything by force, now.
Only negotiations can lead to a solution. And negotiations are not for LAC, since even on the "china's side" of LAC is Indian territory (Aksai chin, Ladakh).
