Our @UKBengali would love to borrow money from overseas to build a Bullet Train line in BD. He thinks it is development. He was jumping with excitement when Australia wanted to extend $16 billion to build one.
He was shouting, it is great development work. And, many of our delusional posters would claim this is development. When India builds itself, BD posters believe in borrowing money and technology to build one.

Can you name 1 Japanese construction company doing construction for Ahd Mumbai line?The same like you with Japanese, there will be major Japanese constructor as well there, they are not fool and giving charity to India with this projecy.
The main constructor is Indonesian SOE consortium that has more than 50 % stake on the project. The Chinese has meaningful stake as well and they are like Japanese does to you will be the supervisor of the project since they have already been experience on building this. Use your logic please
China SOE is investing, they will be part of the operator and gets money from the operation. We dont need to pay back the money they invest, so this investment is risky to China, not really a benefit to them except with many of the trains and railway they bring from China.
Indonesian SOE uses China soft loan as well to finance the project, they need to pay of course gradually.
The reason of China wins over Japan is because this scheme.

And this is not the first time whole Delhi metro is constructed by the Indian contractors not Japanese.
