India--Iran--Afghanistan Finalise Agreement on Chabahar TRANSPORT and TRANSIT pact

.
Karachi is already overloaded, thus the pressing need for Gwadar. Plus, Gwadar is far FAR closer to Afghanistan, which helps decrease transport expenses.

A stable Afghanistan is not required, just a stable Wakhan Corridor, which is all Pakistan really needs from Afghanistan. From my understanding, Pakistan already uses China as a trade route to central Asia, but it is expensive, thus the need for the route through the Wakhan Corridor.

The wakhan corridor is the core reason for us wanting a Pakistan friendly atmosphere there. Sadly, the efforts to secure the area fell apart due to its being under the control of Masood in the Muj era. The idea always was to keep it a Pakistani "controlled" region.

The rest of Afghanistan can burn and die as far as Pakistan is concerned.

is there even a road that goes through through the wakhan corridor to central asia?

Roads can be created.. this is a 12 mile gap that can be bridged by any concerted effort using a mix of tunnels and blasted areas.

well is narrow as it was meant to seperate the british and the soviets.
as for making the road how easy will it be convincing the afgans to build it. and to what expense?
as for making the transit from pakistan to central asia why not make it hell there where you simply anex the corridor and they are too busy try to hold the country together.

Afghanistan is war ravaged country. Do not expect huge volumes of trade to justify the Gwadar port.

The Wakhan corridor gets you to Tajikistan. The largest and richest Central Asian Republics are Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan - none of which share a land border with Tajikistan.

The whole region needs to be stable if any reasonable amount of trade with Central Asia needs to develop

But how Indian will transport their goods to Kabul or Kandhaar ???????

.
that's very naughty but who am i so say that we did much a lot more that a tiny strip of land but when will it happen? not anytime soon?

No plan survives first contact with the enemy. Pakistan may have ideas, doesn't mean rest of the world is going to twiddle their thumbs while they violate sovereignty. Anyway the corridor is too strategic a piece of land and that is why Pakistan has never been allowed to realize their plans.

.
I think the whole subcontinent has a lot more to lose economically due to the kashmir conflict and indo-pak stand-off. Kashmir economy is the major victim, they could earn enough from tourism alone if the whole place wasn't so militarized.

Particularly India has more to lose as it cannot access Iran, Afghanistan, and former USSR states because of the conflict.

If Pakistan allows send them through Pakistan

Otherwise send them to Chabahar and over highways to Kandahar & Kabul

I personally prefer better India-Pakistan ties.

I disagree with the statement "India has more to lose"

India can trade with Iran through ocean. Iran can be conduit to access Afghanistan and maybe Central Asia

You make it sound like Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia have the riches of the world. On the contrary they are among the most miserable countries on this planet.

when the pakistani's want to make hell im sure they can make it. cpec is quiet early so theres time. who knows what will happen in the future, something bigger may happen which may distract the worlds attention.
other possibilities may include guaranteeing stability there in exchange for the land.
or slowly taking and threatening a huge response much greater than what they did when the soviets were there.
as oscar said they are interested in the strip of land the rest is irrelevant.
