India in no mood to hand over Kasab, Ansari to Pakistan

New Delhi: India today virtually ruled out handing over Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist caught during the 26/11 strikes, or his associate Fahim Ansari to Pakistan as it emphasised that "justice" was taking its course in this country in the Mumbai attacks case.

"We are trying Kasab and others here in India following the Mumbai terrorist attacks," foreign secretary Nirupama Rao
said when asked to comment on Pakistan approaching Interpol
for arresting Kasab and Ansari for trial in that country.

"The case against Kasab has proceeded over the last few months. Verdict is expected by May 3 in all likelihood," she
said, adding "justice is taking its course in India on this
subject."

Pakistan's special public prosecutor Malik Rab Nawaz Moon, during trial in the 26/11 case in Rawalpindi yesterday, said Interpol had been approached to issue Red Corner Notice
for arrest of Kasab and Ansari.

Kasab was one of the 10 Pakistani terrorists who attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008. While nine terrorists were killed during 60-hour gun-battles, Kasab was arrested.

Ansari is accused of having conducted recce for the Mumbai attacks and prepared maps for the same.

Pakistan has arrested seven terrorists, including LeT operations chief Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in connection with the Mumbai attacks. They are being tried at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

The Lahore high court has said the trial of the seven terrorists arrested in Pakistan could not be separated from that of Kasab and Ansari and they should be declared as proclaimed offenders or fugitives.

At this point, the defence lawyers said Kasab and Ansari were not fugitives as they were under custody of Indian authorities.

To a question on reports that the land of a temple in Karachi had been grabbed, Rao said the government has sought details from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

It was hilarious to read that Pakistan wants India to hand over kasab & ansari....Its even more hilarious to read that an Indian bureaucrat has actually answered such a weird query...

every1 knows that if any Indian gov. agrees to such demands of pakistan its future would be doomed and there won't be a point of return ....

.
They should hand them over to interpol, allow them to appear in court in Pakistan all under interpol custody and then they leave Pakistan with interpol.

. .
The rest of the people won't get prosecuted then and should be let go.

U really think they will be punished??
By the way the entire process can be done by video conferencing as well. And i guess the dossiers also contain a lot of info needed to prosecute the culprits.

How can you justify & prove what you said now? Do you belong to indian foreign office by any chance? ANyway, if India expects Pakistan to bring some verdict over night in Kasab's case then what about the Samjhota express culprit Kernal Prohit ??? after three years and killing 70 (far more than any single person involved in mumbai attack would have done) he's still breathing. What about Malegoan blasts cultprits they are all enjoying shifting jails.

India coudnt bring justice to them after 5 & 4 years respectively and expects Pakistan to bring verdict and Action over night when evidence is provided in small packets of information, y not give whole information at once ? OR India is running after some world record that India holds the maximum amount of evidences regarding bombay attack ??

Also Kasab is in your hand there is no further need of evidence to prove him guilty and as per Indian media he has confessed as well then y not hang him ? What is India waiting for then ???

Just like America which has destroyed two countries and Killed a Million people in Iraq but still it coudnt get the 9/11 accused person in its own jails to execution chamber.

Same here a bird in hand isnt yet executed but the neighbor is expected to go after an organisation & ban them and hand them over to india on the basis of insufficient evidence provided over a period of more than a Year, at the time when India itself coudnt do anything of criminal lying within its own hands!!!!

This shows the level of seriousness and concern in Government of India regarding this issue and propagating false image of Pakistan.

It doesn't contain incriminating evidence against them also video conferencing is not acceptable under Pakistani law.

Just a quiry,

Did Pakistan handed over Dr. A Q Khan to US? or the recently captured Tererist leaders to US?

Then how can you expect us to hand over Kasab to you??????

.
Kasab is fountain of information as External Minister said. Police should get water boarding training from USA and start applying on him.
