India 'emerging superpower'-Australian PM

Excuse me guys but you have to read Brzezinski,Kissinger,Leonid Ivashov works to understand the term "Superpower" and geopolitics at all.

Superpower is country which dominates all small, middle and great powers and country which can project its power globally.

Only three countries in world history was superpowers.

Great Britain(until Suez Crisis).
Soviet Union (until dissolution of USSR).
and US of America(still superpower).

Today, only USA is really full scaled superpower,China and India are potential emerging superpower and Russia is potential re-emerging superpower(but there are problems),we have EU as potential emerging superpower too,but it have sovereignity problems with Uncle Sam and its policy on the world stage.

Read "Grand Chessboard" by Zbignew Brzezinski.
"Clash of Civilziation" by Samuel P. Huntington...

Come on now C130, stop joking around with the Indians.

Here's India's Nominal GDP rankings and the size of it's economy between 1973-2013.
1973 - 11th ($86 billion)
1983 - 9th ($223 billion)
1993 - 15th ($285 billion)
2003 - 12th ($618 billion)
2013 - 10th ($1.9 trillion)

And, here's China's Nominal GDP rankings and the size of it's economy between 1973-2013.
1973 - 8th ($136 billion)
1983 - 8th ($302 billion)
1993 - 7th ($613 billion)

Hey ! Thanks man you had cleared my doubt now. Chinese economic liberalisation began in '79 but lets count frm '83 ,Indian economic liberisation began in '91 so in 20 yrs neither of the countries have made any big progress as far as ranking's are concerned.so looks like ol the action took place in the 3rd decade, cool. Your had helped me wid the stat's thanks again :-)

India has been an open democracy since 1947 not 1991. On the hand China used to be a hardcore stalinist communist country until it became just a communist country in 1979.

Comparing India with China is like comparing Europe to Africa.

Basically, India is just a gigantic banana republic which now has more poor people than all of the 54 African countries put together. It is a new achievement for India which it will hold onto for a very, very long time.

Here's India's Nominal GDP rankings and the size of it's economy between 1973-2013.
1973 - 11th ($86 billion)
1983 - 9th ($223 billion)

Are you kidding me you retarded troll .. @SUPARCO .. Go back to your cave .. neanderthal !

And, here's Pakistan's Nominal GDP rankings and the size of it's economy between 1973-2013.
1973 - 129th ($8 billion)
1983 - 134th ($34 billion)
1993 - 131th ($67 billion)
2003 - 127th ($87 billion)
2013 - 127th ($238 billion)
Comparing India with China is like comparing Europe to Africa.

So basically comparing India to pakistan is like comparing United Kingdom to Somalia(or any other random sub-saharan banana republic)

Mr Supa Powa, note the following:

In 1981 India's GDP ranked as the 10th largest ($196 billion) in the world while China's GDP ranked 15th ($168 billion) for the same year.
Mr. Super IQ super duper SUPRCO:
China's GDP nominal in 1981 was @ $286billion ,in 1980 it was @ $303billion ranked ''7th'' behind UK @ $542billion and ahead of canada ($274billion)in 1980.

India in 1980 was @$189billion ranked 12th behind Argentina.

However, by 1982 China overtook India jumping to the 8th position and then rose to the second position a few years years back.

1982 china overtook?....it was always ahead of india. Instead china fell down from $303billion in 1980 to $281billion in 1982.from rank 7 to 8th loosing its position to canada in '82.
its nt me who's sayin it's ur own link...lolzzz

My point being is that India already had a larger economy compared to China even way back in 1982,
India in 1982----$203billion
China in 1982----$281billion
Which one's bigger? so much for supaa IQ,me not saying this ,its ur link :)
therefore, if the super duper Indian reforms of 1991 were supposed to help India in anyway, they didn't.

Therefore your own link has made u look like fhool :D lolwa at your logic of benifits of Indian economic reforms .

Try to comprehend that just 3 years after the 1979 Chinese economic reforms, it overtook India. On the other hand, 23 years after India's 1991 economic reforms India is still in the same old position as it has always been.
So try looking back into your own links first ,
Indian in 1990---- $327billion ---rank "12" !
China in 1980------$303billion-----rank "7th" !
-----
20yrs after economic reforms of each country..

India in 2010 -----$1.7trillion---rank "9th" !
China in 2000-----$1.1trillion----rank "7th" !
Oopsie looks like china stood where it was even after 20 yrs of development i.e, @ 7th !
Now live with it!!
Its not me who's sayin' this it's your own link ;)

@Chak Bamu This guy has been doing it in every thread, i have seen him doing it in India developing thread too.... ( initially i thought a newbie not used to forum rules, but now he seems to be doing this deliberately).

He is no more.... RIP in troll hell.

@SUPARCO buddy , must you stir the hornets? Let them have it if they want.

May 4, 2011 - White House Press Secretary Jay Carney announces that President Obama has decided not to release photos of bin Laden's body.

Nova 2, I want to thank you for clarifying this.

You are correct. It would appear that I am using data which is now out of date. This data was gathered last year (2013) from the following website:

List of IMF ranked countries by past and projected GDP (nominal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As IMF updates it's figures every 6 months, in April and October respectively each year, I will need to update my figures to that of April 2014.

Thanks
SUPARCO

India not joining SCO means being encircled by SCO members Pakistan as well as Iran will be joining the group . It is in interest of India to join SCO since it will reinforce border security and Geo-strategic position of India

was that a sarcasm bud?

No. I had gathered that information last year to make an argument in some thread(s). It was still saved in my notes and I just reposted the figures in this thread, forgetting data may have been updated.

Take for example the following post where I used the same data to argue Pakistan-Bangladesh Nominal GDP figures since 1972-2013: Sheikh Mujib brutality | Page 3

Pakistan-BangladeshGDP1972-2013-1.png

Source of the above data can be found here: List of countries by past and future GDP (nominal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The figures haven't changed in this instance. However, I'll have to update my database for India/China figures before I can make any further arguments.

Nova 2, I would appreciate it if you can delete your posts number 95 and 100 as it quotes my incorrect information so as to remove any confusion - maybe we can argue in future.

Thanks
SUPARCO
