India today deported a terrorist wanted in Pakistan to Sri Lanka by a flight from Chennai after Andhra Pradesh police found him living in a remote village near Cuddapah for the past seven years without a valid visa, the Press Trust of India reported.
Based on an Interpol alert, Andhra Pradesh police on May 6 detained the 34-year-old alleged terrorist Nissar Ahmed and brought to Chennai Wednesday Morning after producing him in a Cuddapah court.
Ahmed had fled Pakistan and entered India through Sri Lanka in 2006.
As he had no visa, Ahmed was sent by a Jet Airways flight to Colombo from where he had arrived to India seven years ago, the Press Trust of India reported.
Chennai Police had informed the Colombo airport officials about his deportation, according to the PTI report, and Sri Lankan officials are expected to hand him over to their Pakistani counterparts.
