NEW DELHI: India has declared national mourning on Sunday as a mark of respect to the former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew.

The national flag will be flown at half-mast throughout the country and there will be no official entertainment on Sunday, the day of Mr Lee's funeral, an official statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the funeral of Mr Lee.

Mr Lee, Singapore's founding father who dominated the country's politics for more than half a century, died of severe pneumonia on March 23.

You could have saved a TON of money if u didn't go for packages. For foreigners and specially children all entertainment activities are discounted heavily but these travel agency will ask u to pay full amount. It's easy to travel in SG with children, SG is used to it

Mr LKY had shown special love and interest for India's growth during his active days in SG politics..but unfortunately our political system couldn't adapt to his recommendations due to our complex social system...but, India always respected him ...
A nationwide mourning for this great legend is well deserved!

If I were in Singapore on Sunday I would have attended the final journey of Mr. LKY. I hope our TV telecasts it live here.
It was he who made Singapore one of the best, richest and most modern city out of the third world.
