India & China Seek To End Border Dispute: Indian Defence Minister

India and China are working on a new mechanism to resolve their longtime boundary dispute, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of Foundation Day activities at the Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA) here Nov. 11, Antony said a new mechanism to help resolve the boundary dispute between the two countries will be finalized by the end of the year.

The border between India and China is the longest contested boundary in the world. China claims 92,000 square kilometers of Indian territory.

The border is currently defined by a 4,056-kilometer Line of Actual Control (LAC), which is marked neither on the ground nor on mutually accepted maps. Efforts to establish a recognized LAC have made little headway since the mid-1980s.

Both India and China are bolstering their arsenals and building infrastructure at their common border.

they have been saying that for year's no resolution yet and if there was a resolution to implement it will take a long time and things can change quiet rapidly. have a look at all the past border meeting discussions between china and India has yet to yield any results. i don't think there is any trust factor between the two its human nature.

How? By another war? Trusting China is the next big mistake by India. The only way to end the border dispute is to recognize the McMohan Line, China Returns the Aksai Chin area to India and stop infra development along remote borders. It also udertook some infra projects in Gilgit area. May god give our leaders some will power & assertiveness to negotiate with China.
