Thanks for the answer, @scorpionx . Well, that, indeed, makes sense. Perhaps there should be development of a formal cattle trading by Indian enterprises. This may prove opportune because : 1) it ensures that sales of cattle don't change quantitatively and 2) it reduces instances of illegal border activities. This, overall, will benefit India because it will reduce unnecessary friction between India and Bangladesh. India, as the pre-eminent power in South Asia, may do well to build and forge friendlier ties with her neighbors. I believe there are win-win scenarios for both India and Bangladesh.

I do wish the best and continued prosperity for Bangladesh and India in this regard. Both your peoples and civilizations are brothers, there are cultural , ethnic and racial affinities here.

Its like a family dynamic, man. A younger brother will look up to an older , bigger brother if that bigger brother is kind, understanding of the views of the little brother. But if the older brother is mentally and physically abusive, it will destroy the family dynamic and the younger brother will view the older brother as --- an existential threat. Thank you for the good wishes but I am afraid illegal cattle trading is not going to stop even if both the countries formalize these illegal tradings. Illegal cattle trading is a 2000 crore Industry in Bangladesh. Not just beef is consumed, it is an well established supplier of leather and fertilizer. Legalizing the entire business (by which price of beef is to be increased to international prices)might pull the whole structure to a certain collapse. More over, as long as we do not have firm control over our porous borders, stopping these smugglers is a very difficult job for both the forces.

It is deplorable, definitely. These are for goodness sakes, human lives, not something that is replaceable like cattle, chickens or what not. I had never really read into Indian-Border policies before, in fact this is the first time for me reading any such thing in this forum. And I find it disgusting that some posters can just laugh about this as if its some sick disgusting joke.

I mean, can you imagine if something like this happened in Europe or in US/Canada ? The ACLU and NAACP and other civil rights groups would be out there to the site on a moment's notice.

I can only imagine if the Japanese border security were to do something like this to our neighbors. I mean, come on, we're still even getting criticized for the atrocities committed some 70 years ago. We'd never hear the end of it from the Chinese, or Koreans.

However bengladesh is no china or south korea, so india being the 'world largest democracy' can afford to keep killing them as much as they want without anybody raising any concern. since bengladesh is a small poor insignificant country which we dont have much interest in, unfortunately thats tthe way the world is. However had it been China doing this then our reaction would have been different since we consider China our main rival and will look for anything to make a fuss about them.. In this case India is lucky for now. But things might change when India becomes as powerful as the middle kingdom and a threat to the U.S.

I said the source could be a locale for the statement on the murder of the officer. BSF is already under stiff criticism on the border killing issue, there is no reason to believe they wouldn't lie to hide out their misdoings.

Perhaps you are not much aware of this case.BSF intrudes in to Bangladeshi territory, kills their own fellow and gets the body back from the hands of BDR. Quite a nice plot, I must say.

Well, i always try and visit at least one country every year during my holidays. I love travelling/visiting new places/counbtries/cultures especially Africa and Asia., India is a nice country to visit. i recommend you go there for a visit. Fun, evasion but above all cultural and spiritual wealth was what I felt in that trip. Its an exotic destination, one of the richest and most diverse cultures that I ever saw in my life , and the people there are really warm and welcoming. plus they are quite entrepreneurial, even the poor ones i saw/met in slums there are quite happy,hardworking and intelligent. They are the reason i believe India has alot of potential still untapped. Since the youth there are quite smart and entrepreneurial even in the face of hardships and uptstacles which will make a young european boy give up.lol
The only think i didnt like was the chaos of some of the big cities like mumbhai, where its practically impossible to get somewhere on time, and driving there can be a nightmare. Apart from infrastructure, its a beautiful country with nice people and its quite cheap as well. I enjoyed my stay there really.
I Enjoyed the Taj mahal most, its an undescribable beauty. if you want to sleep, the Oberoi Hotel in Udaipur is a nice place, though I only stayed for one night.
The next country i want to visit is Vietnam. hopefully i will be there next year. cant wait.

BSF picks up 6 Bangladeshis from Sunamganj border

The Indian Border Security Force picked up six Bangladeshi young men from Sunamganj border Sunday afternoon. The detainees included Muktar, 17, Janu Miah, 17, Kala Miah, 17, Saikat, 18, and Misbah, 16, all from Sunamganj. Border Guard Bangladesh and local sources said the detained were trying to grab logs that were coming down with the water from upstream, near the shrine of Shah Arefin at Laurhergarh area. A team of BSF soldiers suddenly entered Bangladesh territory at around 2:00 pm and picked them up, said local sources. The relatives of the detainees claimed the tree logs were coming down into Bangladesh territory with the onrush of hilly water, caused by heavy rainfall. The BSF men detained them after crossing the border and took them inside India, they alleged. Being contacted, BGB 8 Battalion commander Colonel Golam Mahiuddin said they were trying to bring the boys back through negotiations with their Indian counterparts.

Yeah Kenya is absolutely beautiful. In fact not just Kenya the whole of Africa is beautiful/superb like the french say.
Africans(sub saharans i mean, those in the north are a different issue) are the most welcoming/warm/non racists people i have ever met/encounter in the world. They are mostly kind/nice alot with foreigners. They are quite accomodating to anyone from any race/region. There are lots of Chinese/Indians(who migrated/were taken by british for labour work, especially in southern part of Africa age ago). No other continent has such beauty, richness in climate,geography, resources,people, varieties etc. Africa is truly an amazing place.
my wife is mixed race. she's half french half Cameroonian, its from her i started visiting Africa when i first went to cameroon. thats when i fell in love with Africa. . many people tend to focus on just Kenya,Egypt and South Africa as tourist destinations in africa , but there are lots of other nice places in Africa like Senegal,Cameroon(caleed Africa in miniature), Botswana, Gabon, Benin, Congo, Ivory coast, equactorial guinea, Angola etc. these are all beautiful countries with impeccable landscape.
i will recommend you make a trip there . you wont regret it.

O wow very very interesting my friend. I've a fondness for West African food and people, i had the pleasure to attend a Nigerian graduation ceremony (Igbo tribe) last year as one of my colleague's daughter had graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine -- and i was invited to the ceremony. There were tribal elders, chiefs elders that were there, really enjoyed their ceremonial traditions. I do admit that West African people are very kind and friendly. The women there are also quite beautiful.
When I have time in the future, I'll definitely keep your recommendation to heart. ^^,

I think West Africans /Subsaharan Africans are similar to Caribbean folks in regards to friendliness. I actually believe that the people from the Caribbean (Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, Tobago, Trinidad) are not only beautiful, but also very kind and inviting folk.

Well why dont you visit Pakistan.There are a lot of stunning areas and things that you are going to encounter.Historical places like Mohenjodaro,forts of mughal and much more.Culture is very amazing tother than that there is tremendous natural beauty Magnificient hills,lakes waterfall that leave no stone unturned in astonishing the visitor.Infrastructure is also good.
