India and US to hold talks next week
Washington, Jun 15: Five Union Ministers are expected to visit United States next week, to hold a conference with the US counterparts after the highly successful Indo-US Strategic Dialogue held in Washington, early this month.
US will host a high-level delegation of Indian ministers for a series of conferences at the end of the month, informed PJ Crowley, the State Department spokesman. The upcoming conferences are the follow up to the Indian US Strategic Dialogue held which were co-chaired by SM Krishna, the External Affairs Minister and Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of the State.
The Strategic Dialogue held increases the energy and enthusiasm on both sides to continue the efforts to empower the US-India partnership across a wide range of sectors, said Crowley.
"Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma will be attending the US-India CEO Forum on June 22. Ghulam Nabi Azad Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, will be in Washington and Atlanta from June 23 to 25 for the US-India Health Dialogue," Crowley said.
"Prithviraj Chavan, the Minister of State for Science and Technology, is also scheduled to be in Washington on June 24 and 25 for the US-India Science and Technology Forum," he added.
