What matter is the men behind the machine....Good news...

More than 50% of UAE Pilots are Pakistanis, so good exposure for them.

Thats bcos now a days its the technology like BVR that counts not dog fights. This statement has lost much of its value in the last few decades, the fighter jets are becoming more and more autonomous and the quality of Pilots matter much less now than the quality of machines.. This trend will only accelerate in the years to come.
In a contest between a F-35 piloted by a rookie and a Mig-21 piloted by an ace, I'll put my money on the rookie..
Yes, that is my point as well.We are confident of our Planes and pilots
It is good to let your enemies have a Glimpse of your capabilities

The lightening will eventually obviously be a more capable aircraft, still got plenty teething troubles to take care off for now. Now, my friend, you're taking away the greatest advantages that technologically superior jets hold over their older counterparts, namely BVR combat and electronic warfare. If we have to compare something, then its rather prudent to take all parameters and all scenarios into account, not cherry-picking a few scenarios that suit our point of view.. Right?

Still, if by some freak chance it finds itself in a dogfight scenario with a Mig-21, it looses, especially if being piloted by an ace compared to a rookie in the 35.
There are no Pakistani fighter pilots in the UAE F-16 and Mirage squadrons. They're only attached to the air college in Al Ain and some used to be at Minhad on the Hawk 100.More than 50% of UAE Pilots are Pakistanis, so good exposure for them.
