Pakistan desires the "negotiated settlement" of all issues with India, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani today said adding both countries should stand by each other and share happiness and grief.



"We want negotiated settlement of all issues with our neighbour India. Once peace is established in the region, South Asian will be able to get rid of poverty, disease, injustice and ignorance," Gilani said during a meeting with Sikh pilgrims.

Pakistan's Commerce Ministry has "initiated the process of dialogue to grant Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India and the negotiations between the commerce secretaries of both countries are underway in India", he told the pilgrims who had come to Pakistan to join celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Gilani remarked that he had "had a very successful meeting with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh" on the sidelines of the recent SAARC Summit in the Maldives.


"We agreed that negotiation was the way out to resolve all outstanding issues," he said.

Referring to Sikhs and Muslims as the "true heirs to the legacy and culture of Punjab", Gilani said the people of the two parts of Punjab share a "common mother tongue, common songs, common professions, common dresses and common festivals such as Vaisakhi".


He added: "As in our social structure of Punjab, neighbours are dearer (than) relatives. They stand by one another and share their happiness and grief. Both Pakistan and India need to play the same role. Such a role can guarantee peace in the region".

Can't we freeze Kashmir issue for 1o years and to start working on common interests like India Voting for Pakistan in UNO and Pakistans giving India MFN status? Just Pakistan need to stop thinking emotionally and heart. Just some rational practical thinking like India & China do.

Of course India has never shown incidents where they have attempted to do insugence and attempt terrorism in our nation. That simply wouldnt happen because you are an incredible secular nation that it simply cannot happen in.
The mindset that you have about Kashmir is an issue that you cant comprehend nor do you show knowledge in your posts the historical background of Kashmir, what was promised during partition and what Pakistan ACTUALLY recieved.Icould go into specifics but im not here to give you a history lesson and furthermore it would be off topic.
I believe your posts are full of hidden hatred for the sheer audacity that Pakistan have a right and in fact exist. It eeks you. It amuses me that a guy that has so much hatred would come onto our forum to simply have a little wet dream thinking you may upset a few Pakistanis. Far from it we love having chaps like you on because it makes us stronger and builds our faith in concrete and of course thanking our dear god that we are no longer part of your nation.
I hope the new level of talks help both nations to build bridges and i pray the mindset of the likes of Nelson are limited.

let us go into history for a sec......pakistan was all muslim majority parts of british india......but kashmir wasn't a part of british india....it was a princely state under british protection, hence it was independent to choose its side, but when pakis invaded kashmir, kashmir ceded to india and became its part.....do u have any counter claims????
