India and Pakistan need to reunite like Germany and Vietnam: Markandey Katju

I don't know. Are they? I just searched for pictures of Peshawar streets, and that is what came up. Don't know why @Reichsmarschall looked up images of a specific hindu ritual to try and unsuccessfully refute my point.

It is mostly about managing water resources, and stopping the global warming and creating reservoirs and dams...Pakistan has huge water and water related resources.

Pakistan has more glaciers than almost anywhere on Earth. But they are at risk.

With 7,253 known glaciers, including 543 in the Chitral Valley, there is more glacial ice in Pakistan than anywhere on Earth outside the polar regions, according to various studies. Those glaciers feed rivers that account for about 75 percent of the stored-water supply in the country of at least 180 million.

Tamils need a saviour and India will be history

Try abolishing the draconian AFSPA and the constitution which forbids secession, see how Tamils will want to be free from Indian occupation.

I gave names not photos. Who are these people. Kammanati, Pombla serupaala adi vanguve Naaye. Is this your credible list & proof.

My point , your list , almost 10 % are Americans not Indians e.g Sundar Pichai, how long can they retain their 3rd world Indianness in a 1st world western country ?

6 Interesting Facts About Bobby Jindal's Christian Faith

FT_15.06.24_jindal.jpg

Bobby Jindal leads guests in prayer

2. Jindal, who was raised Hindu, is now Roman Catholic.

Before changing his name to "Bobby," after the popular Brady Bunch character, Jindal was born Piyush Jindal, which is still his legal name. He was raised in a Hindu household. He has said on several occasions that he best identifies as an "evangelical Catholic" and says he "felt as if the Bible had been written especially for me."

What about you. You are another Evangalist, sitting in foreign country like a Kantri naai barking. What's Bobby Jindal got to do with Tamil Nadu & this discussion.

Why did you include the "Indians" Americans including con godman Nityananda ? These hypocrites having lost their roots /culture, enjoying comfortable lives in multicultural democracies , will promote rabid majoritarian Hindutva (Hindi-Hindu) politics in online forums.

Indians are the fastest-growing illegal immigrant population in the US

Dai Thevudaye pulle talk on topic. Reel vuta proof kuduknum naaye. Jaagi vasudev Teluguva. Naara kudhi, can you prove it

dont teach me your history, the 700 vs 70 analogy also includes Bharat mata under Mughal rule.

Vasco da Gama ? your are confusing Indian history with Tamil history. Tamils had diplomatic, cultural links with China-Far East, SE Asia, Middle East - Romans , Greeks and Arabs before they had any contact with Aryan Hindis. Ignoramus, I bet they dont teach Tamil history in Indian schools !!!!

Ancient Romans Connection with Tamilnadu

Dai Sori Naaye, Changing plate, talking history. You said British & now bring Rome here. Where is your proof for Tamil British 700 yr connection

Deluded Indian, you need wake up from the Indian illusion. A reminder - Tamilnadu and other states currently under Indian occupation were handed over to Hindi by the British on a golden platter.

I used Katju criteria for re-unification of India and Pakistan, to show how Tamilandu is odds with India. Thats is -Tamilnadu doesnt have a shared history (Mughal rule), culture (language, dress, food, religion) or race (Dravidian vs Aryan) with India. If you cant digest the truth thats your problem.

Deluded Fool. This thread is about India Pakistan not Tamil nadu. Open a new thread & see how many people will put grass for you. Why are you coming & trolling in other threads. Look at the topic heading & what you are posting deluded fool. What's Tamil nadu got to do with this thread. Un pule vetti kheema pani theru naayku poduve Kamanati. Teaching me

The above article explains water shortages in Pakistan due to mismanagement and negligence. Thanks to CPEC and other projects, that is now being addressed. Many countries have faced such problems and have overcome them.

Can you please provide evidence that the Chinese hate Pakistanis and Muslims so much that they are investing $65 billion in Pakistan with many more billions earmarked for further investment in the coming years and decades?

So how do you know the picture you provided are not a fringe section of Pakistani society?

Do you have non wiki/doctored sources that confirm the above?

Not particularly. I have been to Pakistan over 30 times so I know the ground reality. If your picture is true then so is Reichmarschall's.
When did I deny @Reichsmarschall"s picture? I just think it is a curious choice that simply proves the point I was making.

Anyway, I thought you would be supporting me since in my original post I was explaining why Justice Katju's idea is a ridiculous idea. Oh well, guess I was expecting too much

I follow with sadness the ongoing debate over racial traits. My grandfather is a Balkan emigrant, my elders lived in the land of Shkodra for centuries. My mother is a Kurdish. There is no chance to choose our family, but we can change how we look at the world.

Eh! Mismanagement and Negligence is the root cause everywhere. Is there any comprehensive plan to stop this? On an average project execution in this part takes decades. What is happening in Orange line metro is a clear indication. Also, your ground water is dwindling at a faster rate than anybody in the region.

Google yourself, there's a lot of articles, pew research results and their general perception of religions in general. Mind you, they are an officially atheist country that promotes atheism. Aren't the atheism biggest threat?

It would be nice if all Desi countries could just break away from the world and placed in one corner where if nuked, there would be no impact on the rest of the world. There's just too many Brownies for my liking in this world :D

There are many plans under the CPEC framework to overcome this as it is an existential threat to us.

Every country in the world is in a sense "fake".

Not true.

Some nation states are inheritors and largely representative of their ancient parent civilizations.

Iran = Persian civilization

India = Indian civilization

Egypt = Egyptian civilization

China = Chinese civilization

These are natural nation states.

Cheers, Doc

uite so. Those who are suggesting that Pakistan needs to see its future with A, B or C are in no way different from the monolithic blobs (can a blob be a rock at the same time? I wish you had chosen a different adjective, @Sher Shah Awan) geo-strategists. It is just that they see things as a monocultural sea of, say, light cream-coloured blobs, or as naan-shaped blobs, or high-cheeked blobs. Nonsense is possibly the nicest word that can be used of these addle-headed theories and the theoreticians who promote them.

Heh, the mention of blobs on my part was a nod to a completely different forum/set up, unrelated to modern day politics, where there are arguments about certain AI controlled empires that constantly spawn and absorb all surrounding countries.

The better argument or word to use, would be sphere of influence, perhaps?

As far as the 'similar interests' argument goes, there can be pacts and agreements among wholly dissimilar blobs without getting hysterical about it. No need to standardise underwear sizes to achieve the kind of agreement that France and Germany have sought. That argument contradicts the various 'we look like green Martians more than we look like the Indians, so lets...' schools; cultural identity is important, economic interest is also important.

Agreed. Although, even if we stick with the underwear sizes, I think we have the Indians beat. :lol:

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That's a nice message brother. But what the Indians want is a state like Yugoslavia with their own government in charge, whereas we Pakistanis/Muslims want nothing to do with them.

And some aren't. Some of the states you mentioned have tried their best to wipe out their past. Nothing remains the same as civilisations rise and fall. Even when you say "Persian" or "Indian" civilisations, they are not referring to a single point of origin, or a single set of rules or traditions that have been passed down unbroken for thousands of years. These civilisations arise over hundreds or even thousands of years, modifications are added and some removed. There isn't a cut off time is there, for civilisations to stop rising or falling?

.
If India/Pakistan (and then Bangladesh) tore up much more cleanly (without say Kashmir happening or 2-wing "artificial" pakistan happening etc)...we probably would have gotten to much better stage all around now (attitude wise especially)....even with partition happening on the ground like it did....just judging on how we've done pretty ok compared to others. I think that is all too frequently forgotten (what other's near-similar circumstances on close proximity divides suddenly erupting and spreading like wildfire have been like). Deep down we are not really that extremist at core level as many politicians like to think we are.

This was always going to happen when imperial Islam failed to convert the whole of the Indian populace.

There was never any escaping from this.

History is littered with ifs and buts.

What if the British had not come in?

Would there even be an India and Pakistan and Bangladesh?

Would the Marathas have succeeded and endured where no empire in history had in the past 5000+ years?

If anything, and were I to take a slightly pragmatic and even fatalistic view of the events that led us to where we are today, it is a good thing that we got our nations when we did. Before the Cold War began in real earnest.

It is a good thing that we are hostile nation states in the modern world. With treaties and nukes that assure mutual destruction.

But there is no question is my mind that we are capable of great violence and depravity. And that is what lends me to wonder why we have not killed more of each other when it has been so ridiculously easy?

Look at our population density and our capacity to kill and compare it to the European century of bloodshed that just passed.

Could we not have in the blink of an eye doused many more than what we did?

I posit that the two sides have always held back from really going Mongol on each other.

What is the reason?

Why do I say that we are destined to reunite .... in some shape or form?

Cheers, Doc

A civilization is an ever changing beast.

But at the heart of it I believe it is Blood, Faith and Soil. The three elements of unbroken continuity.

Only India continues to have all 3.

Oscar believes there is a fourth thread that surpasses all 3.

Language.

But from where I see it, that is peoplehood. Not civilization.

As I've told the Iranians across generations here many times, I can put Africans in Iran and by the second generation they will all be speaking fluent Persian.

Cheers, Doc
