Question to enhance the GK:

So how many EU countries allow that?

@Rangila

We have so many example,in which Muslim countries give Christmas holidays. So i want to know about EU who talk big on equality and humanity, how many countries give even regional holiday.

. .
Don't know about other europeen countries but in France you don't have any Eid Holiday on every Eid I have to justify my absence at college !

What do you say? You tell them "hey its Eid so I can't come" or something like that?

Also, does France give holidays on Jewish festivals/holidays?

And Muslim countries treat Christians better than Muslims are treated in European nations. In Europe, if Muslims decide to build a mosque--its a NATIONAL news. Everybody losses their sh!t. Switzerland even banned mirates of Mosques lol..

In Pakistan for example, nobody even hears about new churches being build and so on...because nobody gives a sh!t. Christians are free to build whatever churches they want

And before some retard brings up KSA as example--understand that KSA is an outlier. You can't even build a mosque in KSA since all religious buildings can only be build by government and not by individuals.

@Audio @flamer84 when will Europeans stop discriminating against Muslims?

.
See this. And Pakistanis still cry that muslims in India are oppressed.

Unlike EU muslims in India have been here for centuries and from India only, they didn't come from other countries and settled here. Plus we Indians are lazy and we just need an excuse to declare a holiday so that we can enjoy delicious food.

.
Indians like holidays. With the available working days throughout a single year, it's literally saying, "I only work for 40 hours a week with no work on Saturdays and Sundays." :-)

.
I guess there aren't very many Muslims in EU and those that there are migrants not indigenous.
Although I appreciate your attempt to use public holidays as a metric of religious 'equality and humanity'. Thats the most important factor to determine individual freedom innit?

You are wrong, just check Muslim in Germany, England, and France..........

Not Many Muslim native in Western countries do you mean...?

So how about Indonesia (88-90 % Muslim) who give Chinese ethnic holiday as National holiday as well (Chinese New Year)....?

Loll where Muslim countries are banning Christmas..Why would you expect respect?

Which country is it....?

.
India has too many holidays, hehe good for us.

Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain in whichever order u like.

:yahoo: party maro bc :partay:

Any public celebration is forbidden in countries like Brunei, Saudi Arabia etc...

That is effectively banning Christmas for lots of people. Private stuff only goes so far regarding celebrating Christmas properly.

Brunei, Somalia ban Christmas festivities; violators face music | Arab News

I mean has one European or Western country gone that far as to ban Eid decorations and public festivities? There is just no recognition of the holiday on the calendar....Muslims can still take the day off work if they want (they just need to plan for that etc).

Its exactly what Hindus do regarding Deepavali and other celebrations (and Buddhists for Vesak etc)....and no one is complaining about it....we recognise the home culture of where we live sets the official holiday dates.

You are so manipulated........"Muslim can still take the day off ( they just need to plan for that )" ---------"that day off" is fixed every year and with the same number to all workers based on company regulation.

And please dont use et cetera, be specifict, so only three countries then. But Those countries makes Christmas as their national holiday.

And we know there is a country who even ban Islam religion.

So whats the problem? Muslims are free to celebrate Eid however they want in civilised countries...but same cannot be said of other religion's festivals in most majority Muslim countries especially those that have put Sharia over everything else.

So anyone complaining that countries do not bend over backwards to accomodate Eid on the official calendar are being quite hypocritical. It is a decision left to the people of that country....pure and simple.

But Those countries makes Christmas as their national holiday.

KSA and Somalia certainly dont, along with many other Muslim countries

Tell me which Western country has this kind of policy for Eid:

Religious leaders in the oil-rich sultanate warned the ban on Christmas would be strictly enforced, with violators facing up to five years in jail.

"Using religious symbols like crosses, lighting candles, putting up Christmas trees, singing religious songs, sending Christmas greetings ... are against Islamic faith," imams said in sermons published in the local press.

The government warned last year that Muslims would be committing an offence if they so much as wore "hats or clothes that resemble Santa Claus".

Christians represent about nine percent of Brunei's 430,000 population.

-------

And you want countries where Muslims are much less than 9% of the population to recognise Eid as an official holiday?

And who are you to decide the privileges of Indians ?huh?:D
