I think you're over-reacting. In India every state has it's own flag and also state song which they sing on every major occasion. I think that's the case with the US too. The big issue with SL has been inability to accept that the federated unites need not be 'uniform'. There is place for everyone.

Someone who considers MR the image of SL shouldn't even talk about the anthem.
It's a symbol of unity and Tamil are Sri Lankan. Racist lowlifes like you have no place in it. One anthem sung in both languages a symbol of true unity a cancer for the likes of MR and racist gang who exploited the racial divide to be in power and a cancer for you as well
If they call this as racism,
then I'm proud to be a racist.
There is no historic validity to give federal state to Tamils.
It is wrong to sing the anthem in 1948 also. Besides Tamils couldn't bear living with the Kings flag so they had it changed. Now the anthem. Tomorrow it will be the country.
And what is your definition of 'historic validity'?
The historical evidence from any field of science that support the Tamil hypothesis of separate nation in Sri Lanka exclusive for Tamils that existed for thousands of years.
There is a helluva lot of difference between having 2 anthems and granting a state for Tamils.
First I was referring to Federalism and the historical validity it provides to Tamils.
Secondly, Yes there is no direct co-relation between having two anthems and separate Eelam. But it's the stepping stone for the greater good for Tamils.
wahts is the stepping stone for greater good of Tamils?
separate state.

You mean the national anthem in Tamil is a stepping stone for a separate state?
It's sad that Sri Lankans are forgetting that Tamil is also a part of SL. It's part of our culture and identity.
Sri Lanka got independence by a struggle where all races and religions as well as the left and right united and heloped each other. Sri Lankan Tamils did not want to join India or a separate state. They wanted to be Sri Lankan or ceylonese as known at that time.
I hope it's not late to undo the mistakes of the past.
No one is lying here except you. The people you insulted spent time jail for false charges, attacked by colonial authorities and had to cross U-boat infested waters to carry a letter etc etc. And that's how you call them? "So called" heroes? you are shameless as always. If you can't stop saying stupid things and not show your blind servitude for your Dear leader then keep shutOh don't lie. Sri Lanka didn't have a struggle for Independence after 1848. The so called national heroes of 20th century has asked for a dominion type freedom. That's not Independence. Actually Sri Lanka got her dominion type Independence also because of India. We should thank Indians for that.
Why the heck Tamils ask to join India when they didn't even have a country? WTF?
