According to the minister of information the income of Pakistanis has risen which is Incorrect.

Apart from the GDP of Pakistan crashing down, the GDP per Capita of Pakistan has taken a sharp tumble in recent years, resulting in the steep decline in purchasing power of an ordinary Pakistani.
Below is the data released by the world bank.

Even the GDP per capita PPP is falling.

For the year 2021 things are even worse, it's time for a charter of Economy. We as a nation cannot afford further DECAYING of our country.

Why are you measuring it in USD not PKR?
isn't that only reasonable specially in a country with higer imports? otherwise the people of Zimbabwe and Venezuela saw the greatest increase in their incomes. overnight trillions.
but yes, GDP PPP per capita should be used, not just GDP per capita. local currency itself can't show full picture (because of inflation), but neither can only exchange rate.

Perhaps GDP is a misleading way of measuring income in a country that is highly reliant on imports and has stopped artificially pumping it's currency? Maybe the focus should be on spending, and differentiating between essential and non essential commodities. A healthy economy is one where there are more transactions. I'm not an economist, but i know enough to say for certain that the figures presented in this thread are an attempt to create a dishonest assesment.

Btw just to be clear i don't agree with fat Fawad.

What I am seeing in Pakistan. I don’t believe these digits. Man I have seen more rich Pakistanis in Pakistan then people in Europe. These are my feelings in last ten days in Pakistan. Construction industry is on full swing. I visited in my home village and it was small village of 75 houses 15 years ago and now I am seeing palza after palza. 60 families out of 75 have worth ten millions minimum.. no mortgage no borrowings.. how this nation can be so poor. Pakistan needs new modern system of governance. For that we have to get expertise from China Spain and Europe. Pakistan must utilise it’s true Potential. Pakistan’s governance system is 200 years old. Pakistan must Bring infrastructure experts from Europe and China at any cast even if pakistan has to pay high salaries to those experts for betterment of Pakistan. This small investment can bring hell of money to Pakistan. Pakistan’s construction system is expensive. Pakistaní must use smart devéleme methods.

i would say that this is not dishonest. income has decreased, purchasing power ahs decreased. salaries of people are shit, whereas prices have shot up, twice or thrice even, of basic necessities.

Companies have formed cartels and are not offering higher pays (despite earning wayyyyy more). case in point is the textile industry, where all saiths have done a muk-muka with each other: they wont hire the employee of another saith/company, and they will not offer higher salaries despite making billions in textile exports in last fiscal year.

Thats because most villagers are selling their lands and developing housing societies on them instead. its not because suddenly their produce is fetching them a lot of money.

Pakistani don't report their income the GDP charts are hypothetical tool
50% Pakistani live in Villages and only handful of city workers report their income tax

I've read reports that Pakistan's economy has been downgraded to frontier / basic markets, from Emerging markets that it was at due to higher growth years ago. The world rankings go with economy whether military or otherwise.

GDP is not a measure of indiviudals income levels in an economy but rather a measure of a countrys total economic output. GDP per capita similarly divides the countries output divided by the number of people residing in that country. A more suitable index to this issue would probably be something like disposable household income or per capita income.

Of course Fawad Choudhry has not provided any source of his 75 fiisad claim so that is a questionable statement from him as well.

People really don't get Pakistan

:coffee: Your "Emerging Market Tag " or "Super Man Tag" is not needed we are already on the highway of Trade Silk Route forged in ancient times

8-) None of this side of economy appears on any radar

No Problem in Pakistan

All of what you are saying is likely correct, my only point is that i don't think GDP is an accurate way of depicting that in our country.

I personally think Fawad Ch is lying and has no real stats to back up his claims.

i agree with that, that is why purchasing power and HDI should and must be taken into account.
