Half-researched news. India is pouring billions into solar electricity capacity. The cost per unit now is around Rs. 5.30. So we are well on target to make renewable energy production to 40% of the total. Besides the grid level infrastructure, the government is providing subsidy to install rooftop solar panels to produce their own power and even contribute to the grid for some earnings.

So you say Trump is winning the election? He already lost 50% vote - that is from women. He would not win even if Sanders gets the Democratic nomination. The reality is much different from liberal fantasy. Solar panels need rare earth metals which are more expensive than gold. Solar will never be competitive with coal because it's too expensive, too dirty to mine, too unreliable.
Actually, solar power might be affordable in India if India gets 100 billion dollars from Obama according to the Paris agreement. However, that is unlikely because Trump will tear up the Paris agreement and will not give money to India to pay for solar power.

The projects have already picked up pace. Solar has smaller setup time. Earlier the cost per unit was Rs 10 whereas coal costed Rs1.50 or so. With the falling cost, and the new considerations of pollution and global warming, solar is not such a bad option. In India commercial power costs Rs8 per unit(or more depending on the type of business) for a small business, which means they can fund solar power directly. Nobody is banking on your Obama money.
I do see the pattern. But I look at the Republican primaries and just sigh. They cannot even take on Bernie because they make him look saner. It is virtually impossible for the same party to retain the WH after 2 terms. The last time that happened was in the 1980s. Americans do not want 1 party to rule politics. They switch once every 8 years.
Does India mine rare earth metals for solar? It is environmentally disastrous and would have a snow flake in hell's chance in the US.

That is my point. The Republican candidates make even him to look better.Bernie Sanders is a socialist. He has no chance. Plus, when has socialism ever succeeded? Eastern Europe and the USSR were wrecked. China reformed. Big government can never compete against free market.
