Imran Khan’s awkward moment in Beijing

You do know Pakistan is in the mess it is, that needs emergency procedure to save it, precisely because it has been governed by very, very 'experianced' PML-N and PPP governments for last 30 years. If dire straits Pakistan is in at the present because of experiance can we please have some inexperiance, please!

And for what it's worth although the source is dubvious but there is probably some truth in this. I am firm believer in realpolitiks. No state can be run by being a saint. If for instance Pakistan really took on morality as guiding principle of foreign affairs we would end up annoying and making enemies of almost all the big powers. All we would have left is Maldives, Seychelles and vatican ....

  • USA ~ Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, support to Israel
  • Europe ~ support to Israel
  • China ~ repression of Uighur Muslims
  • Russia ~ the almost genocide of Chechens and destruction of the Emirate of Chechynia
  • Russia ~ repression of Daghestani Muslims
  • Egypt ~ recognition of Israel
  • Turkey ~ repression of Kurds
  • Saudia ~ treatment of Pakistani workers
  • UAE ~ treatment of Pakistan workers
  • Iran ~ repression of Sunni communities
  • Australia ~ genocide of Aborigines
  • India ~ you already know
  • Afghanistan ~ you already know
  • etc
  • etc
That is why governments have to rationalise their foreign policy based on self interest. However PTI did lose track of self interest with regards to China. First they were critical of CPEC, which is perfectly okay but it should have been done privately with the Chinese. Doing it publicly was blowing smoke up the Chinese nose and it gave fuel to it's enemies in America.

In addition PTI religious and minorities minister publicly complained about Uighur Muslims. That is a no, no. You want to annoy the Chinese dragon and have it spouting fire the perfect way is to raise the Uighur issue. Keep it up and you would have PLA divisions parked next to Sost border between Pak and China. Never mind CPEC or any help!

However I must stress this. Green a this government is because it is inexperianced at least it has it heart in the right place. I prefer this compared to the experiancec looters of PML-N and PPP. At least as we move forward PTI will gain experiance fast. But looters never give up looting.
I was a big supporter of PTI , but I don't know how long and how many times the state, the supporters or we can say establishment will come forward to rescue IK,his ego and Superiority complex some times is beyond the tolerance of domestic and international establishment, his last speech ,his insistence to stay in bani gala, his way of getting Bushra Bibi, his hurry for Reham Khan, and many other matters which are not discussable here are raising many eyebrows, His only merit is this that he himself is not Currupt, but surrounded by many opportunists and Currupt,, it was in someone's mind that during the ACCOUNTIBILITY drive if the Nora and Zardari some how weaken or even overthrow his govt ,Ik will dissolve assembly and ask for fresh elections and will gain decisive majority and will remove 18th amendment and dirt of curruption ,he exposed this plan many times ,resulting counter measurs by opposition, they some how used Assia case and CJp to gain this goal. Now if early elections are called Imran will not have that majorty, so this option is killed by Ik himself by his speech and by his brainless ministers, their statements were and are against his political gains.Establishment does not want marshallaw but wanted to solve the issues by remaining behind and through democracy, biggest hurdle is 18th amendment which now seems imposible to remove, I don't know when will Ik grow up and how many times more establishment will render her services to rescue him,

Imran Khan is currently on his first official visit to China after taking oath as Pakistan’s Prime Minister in August. The high profile visit was partially overshadowed by the Tehreek-e-Labbayk Pakistan protests across the country over the acquittal of Aasia Bibi from the Supreme Court in a blasphemy case.

The big news from Beijing is that Chinese government has promised to ‘provide necessary assistance to Pakistan … but more talks are needed‘. At the same time, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister told the media after PM’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart that there were no plans to ‘scale back the CPEC’.

However, the body language of the Pakistani premier in the footage released to the Chinese media officially was intriguing. It was an unfamiliar spectacle for a Pakistani Prime Minister looking weary.

But Naya Daur has received a piece of information that could well be the reason of PM’s fatigued outlook in what has traditionally been the most friendly capital for Pakistani PMs in the world.

According to well-placed sources within Chinese media, the Chinese officials gathered all the statements of Imran Khan and his senior cabinet members about the problems with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and showed them to him in a high profile meeting.

The Pakistani PM was then asked to be careful about such statements in future and was also told to rein in his ministers on the subject.

In the official communique issued to the media after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Yi especially mentioned that the officials on both sides should be careful about matters of significance, as reported by Chinese media.

Earlier, Imran was received at his arrival in China by the Chinese Transportation Minister – a move that was also taken as a snub by many back home.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistani cabinet members have repeatedly voiced their concerns about the contracts awarded to Chinese companies in the past. PM’s adviser on Commerce and Industries Abdul Razzak Dawood had also stated in an interview with Financial Times that ‘the previous government had done a bad job at negotiating with China on CPEC’. He went on to add that Chinese companies were getting all the tax breaks while Pakistan companies were disadvantaged. “I think we should put everything on hold for a year so we can get our act together,” he added. “Perhaps we can stretch CPEC out over another five years or so.”

CPEC is worth 62 billion dollars. It is China’s biggest investment in any country and is considered pivotal to its Belt and Road Initiative. Pakistani officials’ careless statements about some of the projects under CPEC have previously drawn attention of the Chinese officials and the recent developments also confirm that all isn’t well with the ‘all weather friend’ right now.

However, PM’s visit is expected to bridge the communication gap and with the assistance of a seasoned diplomat and politician Shah Mehmood Qureshi as his foreign minister, Imran Khan should certainly be able to address the concerns of the Chinese authorities regarding the future of CPEC.

Look at some of the responses of these fool youth Lot, They think that China will be very happy for statements against CPEC by Imran Khan and his ministers.

Listen fools, Abdul Raqaq Doud dawood had to retract his statement against CPEC, and at the same day...

Come out of your fairy tales world, where everything is hunky dory...
They indeed only care about imran and their personal ego. Nation, national interest, national dignity are not even in their concern list.

9/11 given Amerikkka's mood
This is not the thread for it but there is a Chinese martial art [I forget the name] which works by using the kinetic energy of the opponent. Meaning you use the stronger opponents energy as opposed to going against it directly. When the American's came knocking with "stone age" threats it was not a binary equation. Either gave your a*ss to them or being slaughtered. There was "yes sir" and then all the shades of grey until you get to "fcuk off".

As regards economy Mush just collected the dollar payments from US, distributed it to his political acolytes and then injected some into the economy gto create a artificial boom for few years. As and when the US dole payments for 'services rendered' the boom would run out and that is exactly what happened.

You really have to scrape the bottom of the barrel if you have to share news from "Naya Daur TV"... The desperation of the patwaris is amazing. If only they had this much desperation to reform the country and themselves.

On today's CCTV report our vice president says that Pakistan is China's ONLY all weather friend. I was almost shocked to hear such a strong statement from that channel by the nubmer two leader of China, That's China Central Televison, the mouthpiece of the Chinese government and our vice president mostly is a carefully worded guy. China is a country of her words, she made a pledge to help Pakistan out of the current trouble and she will definitely deliver it.

China and Pakistan are good friends, that's something everyone knows, but this is the first time that China admits that she doesn't have many true friends but one, that's the first time I heard a statement like this in my whole life time and I always closely follow Chinese politics and foreign affairs.

@haidian

I don't think there was ever a doubt about the existence of such friendship between the two states. I am glad about the statement from Chinese Vice President but not at all surprised!
