Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed a resolve that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would be completed at any cost to pass on its benefits to nationals.
He stated this while reviewing progress on the CPEC projects in a meeting which was attended by Federal ministers Asad Umar, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar and Omar Ayub, Commerce Advisor Abdur Razzak Dawood, CPEC Authority Chairman Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa and others.

Terming the CPEC an excellent project for socioeconomic progress of the country, he said that the multi-billion dollar project would guarantee a bright future for Pakistanis.

He said that the CPEC is the manifestation of Pakistan-China friendship.

The prime minister appreciated the performance of the CPEC authority and directed officials to boost up its capability and working.

If Iran does join CPEC, it should be on the basis of a rapprochement between the countries on the subject of Afghanistan. Both Pakistan and Iran have to understand that there is no way forward in achieving peace in Afghanistan, other than to work together. There should also be a rapprochement on the Sunni-Shia divide.

We must understand one thing, that unless we address the core issues and comprehensively, genuinely the enemy will always slip through the cracks to sabotage the cooperation.

CPEC is not only beneficial to Pakistan, but more importantly, if carried out with genuine sincerity, would benefit all three ... Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. Because we can open the gateway to Central Asian and China, with peace in Afghanistan.

Pakistan and Iran can immunize themselves and will benefit from, when they adopt currency swaps, or Chinese Yuan or Gold Standard, to cut out the American Petrodollar hegemony.

It is truly sad that the idiots sheikhs of the Arabian Peninsula are in bed the zionist-west, failing miserably to see the benefits of a comprehensive rapprochement between Sunnis and Shias, to unify Muslim states as a singular cohesive platform of which to collaborate in strengthening one another and establishing the writ of Islam in the Muslim World.

I hope expedited means investments (not just loans) into factories (local manufacturing meant for export) and making our agriculture multiple orders more productive and value added (for domestic needs and export)

If We can at least increase exports such that we close our budget gaps, at least the national debt will stop growing and Pakistan won’t have to take out more loans from the IMF.

In a tv-series show on Dawn, Enter the Prime Minister, he was the only person to tie with Asma Jahangir as PM candidate even before he had joined PTI. Your knowledge is outdated. Imran Khan created a CPEC authority to handle all CPEC matters and made Asim Saleem Bajwa it's head. The authority is working with amazing speed.

Pakistani MPs term CPEC prolific for entire region

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on July 5 termed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a game-changer for the entire region which would bring economic revolution in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan.


The partnership in the form of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will prove to be a historical milestone in the Pak-China bilateral relations, both the ministers said while speaking to a Radio Pakistan’s Current Affair Programme.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said from the beginning the Prime Minister Imran Khan has been supporting the game changer project CPEC and was determined to take this great initiative to its logical end.

The mega project would not only benefit China and Pakistan but the entire region, he said, adding, this project also be a gateway to European markets for trade activities. The government under CPEC was mainly focusing on making improvements in economic, education, health and industrial sectors, he highlighted.

Ali Muhammad said at this time, special attention was being given to Baloch people to eliminate their sense of deprivation.

The government would definitely ensure maximum projects in Balochistan under CPEC and ensure the people of the province would get maximum benefit from CPEC, he assured.

Minister of Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry said, it was a good development that CPEC has entered its final stages of the second phase.

In the first phase of this initiative, special emphasis was on overcoming energy shortage and improving road infrastructure. In the second phase of this mega project, the industrial growth was among the priorities, Fawad said .

He added, special economic zones and industries have been established in this phase. In the third phase of CPEC, agriculture sector would be focused.

Govt committed to complete CPEC projects: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD, Jul 06 (APP):Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar Monday said the government was committed to complete the projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In his tweet, he said the government was also committed to produce indigenous clean energy.

“The signing of 1.5 billion dollars 700 MW Azad Pattan hydro power project, days after signing of 2.4 billion dollars 1100 MW kohala hydropower project is a manifestation of the Government’s commitment to both CPEC and development of indigenous clean energy,” he added.

let me rephrase, after massive slow down in progress on CPEC and explicit displeasure shown by our Chineese partners IK was TOLD to make an authority and a competent person (Gen Bajwa) was brought in to make sure that thing stay smooth, Many of the cabinet personal have been named to keep away from CPEC, like Razzaq Dawood for starters.
