I myself did not listen or read Prime Minister Imran Khan’s address to the nation, as being of my age today I don’t believe on any word from the mouth of any politician. Through a talk show, however, I learn that he said people could contact him with any suggestion, advice or with whistle blowing through “social media”.
2. This old man remembers well that these were only the so called dictators who listened the ordinary and properly responded. This senior citizen ordinary holds in his record responses signed by themselves from General Ayub Khan, General Pervaiz Musharraf. From civilian side only President Ghulam Ishaq Khan gave proper response.
3. The dictator General Pervaiz Musharraf on the Presidential website under “send message to the President”, received online communications from all. Within 24 hours, his Press Secretary formally acknowledged and properly followed the issued raised by the ordinary. Then after a month or two, a formal response followed. The brighter side of all it was that if the issue raised was affecting the larger segment of the community, the original message to the President and the final resolution to it was displayed on the Presidential website for general knowledge and precedence of all. Since the dictator really wanted to have a sort of contact with masses, he in true practical term kept this “send message to the President” really aliv
4. Came civilian Asif Ali Zardari, he completely deleted this link from the website. President Mamoon has displayed almost 40 emails of different presidential sections, but on many emails sent come back undelivered and if are delivered, no response is received. Thinking of such a gesture from Nawa Sharif was just fooling oneself.
5. This old with 50 years rich experience both at home and abroad can’t waste his words in this age advising Imran Khan.
