Imran Khan Indicted for Contempt of Court - Trial to start September 22nd

every time the u-turn king, delusional liar and bluffer opens his mouth puts his foot in it and ends up helping the chors of PDM.

I am telling you voice of IHC chief justice suddenly got changed since 2-3 days all after CoAS selection comments by IK. Even the support legal experts recommended to let IK go but it was pretty evident the panel already made their mind. They even didnt let IK speak upon multiple requests.

Keyboard warriors raised RS 500 Crore for the flood victims.

That amount has been pledged, reportedly. Much of it has not been made available thus far. Claims are believable only when realized, in my view. The same is true of your argument about keyboard warriors.

Btw if these bastards indict IK on Sept 22, do IK have an option to challenge the decision in SC ?

Looks like the justices are hell bent on the Pakistani nation truly finding out why they rank 130 in the world. If there is one thing the common man is well aware of it is the horrendous courts process in Pakistan. By finding IK "guilty" these emperors will show they have no clothes, and they will move Pakistan closer to a violent alternative, while AM (IHC justice) will go down in history as a complete shell for other powers. This is going to the two choices I had said will remain. Either IK is killed or sidelined with some sporadic national level violence (which the crooks think they can handle), or this will degenerate into political and social violence.
IK fails to understand the principle of convergence of interest. People of good intentions will align with their economic and power interests, and by passing flowery adulations for the military without openly stating that some in senior command are "killing" the nation he is making his eventual task more difficult. The same issue is with the judiciary. He is not going to get a fair shake from the judiciary. He needs to put pressure under their feet. If he does not, they kill him and his movement with a thousand cuts. IK fighting a gunfight with a knife. "Oil the machines"!!!! No other way, the status quo system is too powerful and too entrenched.

Expand on this please.
"Advocates Munir A. Malik and Makhdoom Ali Khan, who were appointed by the court for assistance in the decision, both advised the court against any further proceedings in the case and to accept Imran Khan’s response. However, the court decided against their opinion."

Presumably, both lawyers would have provided the legal basis for their considered opinion not to proceed. If so, the court is bound to provide an equally robust legal basis that would supersede the lawyer's opinions. Details are needed to further assess this situation properly.

Expand on this please.

The court appointed two amicus curiae to the case, to assist the court with the proceedings and in making a judgement. Here is what they had to say:

Meanwhile, Munir A. Malik, amicus curiae for the court, said the contempt law had been used to strengthen the judiciary. “It is true that there are judgments of the Supreme Court in contempt of court cases, but it is also true that this law is constantly evolving.”

He said that the words spoken outside the court could never impact the IHC.

“The words are disappointing, but not an obstacle to the dispensation of justice,” he added and opined that the contempt proceedings could either be quashed if an apology was tendered or better conduct was shown.

Malik, subsequently, requested the court to wrap the contempt case in light of the reply submitted by Imran.

In his arguments, Makhdoom Ali Khan, another lawyer assisting the IHC, said that public interest lied in both dispensing justice and the freedom of speech.

“In America, a president had called a court decision the worst,” he highlighted, going on that the judiciary there had shown restraint and taken out a second way out.

Here, Justice Minallah said that the same country had also suspended Donald Trump’s Twitter account for inciting followers. “This is the reason why we are saying the choice of words is very important for a political leader,” he said.

However, Makhdoom contended that the remarks of a leader, made at a rally, could not affect the court’s proceedings, saying that further time could be granted to the PTI leader.

“Imran should use the words of regret and apology in his detailed reply,” he said, urging the court to show “magnanimity and pardon Imran”.

To this, Justice Minallah asked if someone’s ego was more important than the prestige of the judiciary and pointed out that Imran did not even tender an unconditional apology in his response.

Subsequently, the judges took a five-minute break.

Is mulk main judges ko court proceedings, dispensation of justice, preventing abuse of law say zyada parwah contempt ki hai.

I know people who missed being with their loved ones in their last time because the judge went on a friggin holiday for two months! And that person's bail application didn't get processed in time.

Interesting that both of them urged IK to tender an apology for their recommendation to hold.

How brilliant that Minallah picks the Twitter ban. The idiot needs to know that Twitter is a private company that has a right to regulate usage of its platform. In no instance could the government come in and define what is correct and incorrect language or speech. That is the whole purpose of independence of governments/laws/judiciary from taking sides in political discourse or religious management. For Minallah to express that in court tells me nothing but a pre-defined agenda at play and two how ill-informed and ignorant the fellow is.

I told you that I have a hunch it's not going to go away, seems like my hunch was right. They are hell bent on knocking out IK technically.
