Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said his party will extend unqualified backing to the government for its policy against terrorism.

Talking to media after visiting the residence of Zahra Shahid, a PTI worker who was assassinated, he said sacrifice rendered by Zahra Shahid will not go waste. The responsibility of law and order in Karachi is rested with police, not the Rangers; however, it is vital that police be depoliticized and system be set in order, the PTI chief asserted adding, “Restoration of peace is our topmost priority and we will support the federal government for the purpose.”

Responding to a query, the PTI chief said he intended to hold a public gathering in Karachi; but, the agencies warned him about the potential attack, adding accordingly, lives of the thousands of people cannot be endangered. The party has readied the proposals for counter-terrorism policy, which will be presented as and when the government wishes, he added.

On the other hand, his hand picked CM of KPK was exposed of having too much influence on police. And when the CM was asked about it, he shamefully said it has been happening for decades and it can't be changed over night. Array bhai atleast take an initiative. Atleast set an example by completely getting rid of any political influence on police so others can follow.

But yeah, police must be depoliticized. A good example is of the hostage standoff in islamabad. If the police had powers, the drama wouldve ended in 30 minutes. But because interior minister himself was involved and gave directions of not shooting that crazy psycho, the drama last for 6 hours.
