Prime Minister Imran Khan recently expressed two desires: Pakistanis should watch Turkish television series Dirilis: Ertugrul and read the book Lost Islamic History: Reclaiming Muslim Civilization from the Past by Firas AlKhateeb under lockdown. He wants the nation to learn of the Islamic Golden Age. It is the kind of paternalistic guidance that he perhaps considers the duty of a head of state for his flock, especially the young sheep.
Fortunately, the prime minister hardly needed to plug these two cultural productions. Pakistanis are already addicted to Ertugrul and Lost Islamic History is a reasonably well-known book.

Why not study a good book on Turks and Ottomans. OR just watch a nice documentary rather than watching Halima Baji and not paying attention the main details and history.

Why not do both and not needlessly complain about how people entertain themselves.

Its this or Bollywood and I much rather this then that garbage

That's what I am saying. If they wan't to entertain themselves the can watch Baby Shark or whatever they want I don't care....

If you want to learn history these dramas will not help.

I don't think you really understand.

lets say you have no interest in history.
You watch this and say "hmm... that's cool, let me read up some more about that" and boom... you now have a person who got inspired to learn.

If that happens to even 1% of the people who watch, that is thousands... 10s of thousands of people who have now learned something they didn't know before.

also, don't entertainment shame.
Let people watch what they want, if you don't want to, don't.

It's not the drama, it's the mindset....

Once you align yourself with that mindset, based on Iman, Ihlas, Uhuvvet etc., the rest are details...

In this Dava, folks don't live only for themselves and their families, they live for the Millet, Devlet, Vatan etc....

For the Beka-i Devlet, even the fathers, brothers, sons, son-in-laws etc. are sacrificed without the blink of an eye...

Jinnah left behind all of his property and his only daughter for the sake of creating Pakistan. These "stories" shouldn't come foreign to PM IK...

My cousin's 18 month old literally plays it for hours all day. She even has nightmares about Baby Shark.
