Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and his wife Reham performed Umrah on Wednesday night, with photos of the newly-wed couple circulating on Twitter. The couple can be seen in the traditional Ihram, a state in which pilgrims wear special outfits: two-piece seamless garments for men and any loose dress for women, who are permitted to reveal hands and faces only.

The PTI chairman left Pakistan two days earlier, as he had said he would go to perform Umrah along with his wife Reham to Saudi Arabia. He said the couple would offer prayers for the victims of the Army Public School attack.

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the PTI chairman's residence in Bani Gala on Jan 8.

The nikkah, which was a low-key affair, was conducted by Mufi Saeed and was followed by a photo session of the newly-weds.

Allah has declared Makkah as a city of peace so there are no security issues. When I performed Umrah as an ordinary citizen and not as a VIP, security was never a problem. There were other minor issues but I would rather not go into them as they are not important. Imran should consider himself lucky to be performing Umrah as a VIP.

Some thing is not right with the first and last photo. It is claimed that Imran Khan is arriving in Jeddah. When people who perform Umrah arrive in Jeddah, they always wear Ahram and not ordinary clothes. The meqaat for people arriving in Jeddah is the airport of their departure. If Imran Khan arrived in Jeddah wearing ordinary clothes, then at what location did he put on Ahram ? Did he travel to a meeqat point to put on his Ahram or did he go straight to Makkah from Jeddah. Could somebody kindly explain ? Because if he traveled straight from Jeddah to Makkah, then in this case his Umrah is not valid.
