The movie about these graduates of yesteryear - The Eternal Zero (永遠の0), starring by my favorite actor Junichi Okada (岡田准一)

I watched the movie twice. As career naval servicemen, their fighting spirits are respectable!

Indeed! The professionalism and shear patriotism of these young cadets is something to be respected , even our current youth should emulate their devotion to country and self. My grandfather actually was a graduate of Kaigun Heigakko (海軍兵学校) Class of 1938. Still have his uniform at my home back in Sapporo actually.

My younger brother is currently a 3rd year officer cadet at the same institution.

Bro @Shotgunner51 , have you served or attended 海军大连舰艇学 ? I hear it's highly respected and heavily competitive as well!!

Yeah it seems to be more famous among PLAN institutes. I'vd been there as visitor only.

Yes it is , in fact it has maintained some of the traditions of 保定軍校, actually. Which was the precursor of modern military academies in China, even before Whampoa.

I'd love to visit it someday. Officer cadets graduates there are said to be one of the best in the PLAN. :)

The Japanese at the start of WW2 had better aircraft in the Mitsubishi Zeroes which outclassed every available American fighter aircaft in speed, maneuverability and firepower.

The old Imperial Naval Academy resurrected into the Japanese Naval Academy. Have you been to the museum located near the premises of the main building, there are also impressive artifiacts of the Yamato, Mutsu, and other battleships , destroyers that served honorably and with distinction throughout the life of the Imperial Navy. Thanks for the pictures.

I know the place very well. Thank You.

I think this place is considered Hallowed Ground by most Japanese Naval Cadets who graduate , as well as Sacred Soil by those who serve in the MSDF.

JMSDF Drill Team Practice. Enjoy, folks

Check this out, bro, notice the way our boys march, can't imagine the precision and deadly accuracy they will field when they're in the branches. Mostly GSDF and MSDF, i suppose.
