But Yahya khan was not a Pushtun either. He had Persian ancestry.

For the record, Nadir Shah was not a 'Durrani'. Nader Shah was an 'Afshar'; one the Oghuz Turkic tribes that were part of the Qizlbash tribes supporting the Safavids.

After the assassination of Nader Shah, Ahmad Shah Abdali who was one of the commanders of Nader Shah, escaped to current day Afghanistan and carved the kingdom of Afghanistan for himself with Qandhar as its capital. Qizlbash of Afghanistan & Pakistan are probably the remnants of Nadir Shah’s soldiers who later became part of Ahmad Shah’s army.

Even though he was born in Peshawar, the name Agha Mohammed Yahya Khan clearly indicates that he was not a Pushtoon but a Qizlbash.
