Iqbaliat is fine.. Wouldn't mind his poetry in our Urdu books and rather than the guide tashreeh an actual interoperation of his wording by each student to increase creativity and floe of thought but knowing HEC it will be one more chapter about Iqbal and a few more poems in the Urdu section...
Islamic history? Our entire history books are already filled with it. I thought we covered everything. From rashidun, to ummaya, to Abbasid, to Ottoman, to salahuddin, to conqueror of Spain, to islamic scientist, islamic golden age, to afghan kings like ghouri, ghaznavid, safavid, from qasim to Delhi sultanate, mughals, subcontinental sufis albiet mentioned less in school curriculum but hold great place in philosophy.. quite frankly Islamic history in greatly covered in a variety of subjects that are taught from KG to MA.
caliphs reforms are studied in MA history so once again what hole is there to plug or add more...
Unless of course the idea is to reform Islamic history taught by lesser emphasize on conquests and kings and greater emphasize on the scientific schools like more details of the legal frameworks in Islam or the madrassah ( university not the half a marla room now) achievements and in science and philosophy and reason but that is way too complicated for a simole minded department like HEC and is a thinking nation is way too dangerous for our elite..
