ISLAMABAD: A judge has given the acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board three months to conduct fresh board elections.
Acting chairman Najam Sethi appeared Thursday before Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.
Justice Siddiqui expressed confidence in Sethi's appointment and hoped that the former caretaker chief minister of Punjab province will conduct free and fair elections in the PCB within 90 days.
Sethi, a prominent political analyst, was appointed by prime minister Nawaz Sharif last month after Justice Siddiqui directed the government to replace Zaka Ashraf, saying his election was ''polluted''.
Sethi also attended ICC's Board meeting last week after Justice Siddiqui stopped Ashraf from going.
