ঢাকা: বাংলাদেশে নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়ে যে সংখ্যালঘুরা ভারতে চলে গেছেন, তারা দেশে ফিরতে চাইলে গ্রহণ করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী এবং আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের।
ভারতের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী অমিত শাহের বক্তব্য প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেছেন, ‘ভারতের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী যেটা বলছেন বাংলাদেশের বাস্তবতায় এটি কি অসত্য? ২০০১ সাল থেকে যে মাইনরিটি পারসিকউশন এদেশে হয়েছে এটা কেবলমাত্র একাত্তরের বর্বরতার সাথে তুলনা হয়। কাজেই এখানে শাক দিয়ে মাছ ঢাকার কোনো উপায় নাই।
সোমবার (২৩ ডিসেম্বর) সচিবালয়ে সমসাময়িক বিষয় নিয়ে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
ভারতের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী অমিত সাহা বলেছেন, ‘২০০১ সালে বিএনপি-জামায়াত ক্ষমতায় থাকাকালে সাম্প্রদায়িক সহিংতায় কিছু লোক ভারতে আশ্রয় নিয়েছে।’
বিএনপি এর তীব্র প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়ে বলেছে, বিএনপিকে তারা সন্ত্রাসী দল বলার অপচেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে।
ওবায়দুল কাদের বলেন, ‘বিএনপি যতোই সত্যকে চাপা দিতে চায় না কেন, আপনারা জানেন তখন কীভাবে সংখ্যালঘুদের ওপর অত্যাচার হয়েছে; বিশেষ করে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর। ওই অবস্থায় দেশ থেকে পালানোই ছিল স্বাভাবিক। অনেকেই জান-মালের নিরাপত্তার জন্য সেদিন পালিয়েছেন। মির্জা ফখরুল সাহেব যতোই সাফাই গান না কেন, যে সত্য দিবালোকের মত সত্য তা চাপা দিয়ে কারো কোনো লাভ নেই।’
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উপদেষ্টা ড. গওহর রিজভী ভারতে বলেছেন, ‘যদি প্রমাণিত হয় বাংলাদেশ থেকে কোনো সময় লোক গিয়েছে, তাদের ফেরত আনা হবে- এ বিষয়ে সরকারের অবস্থান নিয়ে কাদের বলেন, ‘ফেরত আনার যদি প্রয়োজন হয়…, এখন শেখ হাসিনা সরকারের আমলে সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের মতো কোনো ঘটনা ঘটেনি। বিচ্ছিন্ন-বিক্ষিপ্তভাবে অঞ্চলভিত্তিক দু’চার জায়গায় কিছু ঘটনা ঘটেছে। সেটা তাদের দেশ থেকে পলায়নের মতো বা নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে যাওয়ার কোনো কারণ সৃষ্টি করেনি এবং এ ধরণের কেনো ঘটনাও ঘটেনি।’
এ সরকারের আমলে সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের বিভিন্ন ঘটনা প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, ‘মাঝে মাঝে কিছু ঘটনা ঘটেছে যেমন- রংপুর, গোবিন্দগঞ্জ, রামু, নাসিরাবাদ; এসব ঘটনায় যারা জড়িত তাদেরকে বিচারের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। কাজেই তাদের দেশ থেকে চলে যাওয়ার কোনো কারণ সৃষ্টি করেনি বলে মনে করি।’
বিএনপির আমলে সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের সময় কি সংখ্যালঘু ভারতে চলে গেছে- প্রশ্নে কাদের বলেন, ‘সেই অবস্থায় যাওয়াটা খুব স্বাভাবিক। আমরা ছিলাম বিরোধী দল, আমরা সহানুভূতিশীল ছিলাম অনেক জায়গায় নোঙরখানা করেছি, গোপালগঞ্জের কোটালীপাড়া মোটামুটি সেইভ জোন একেবারেই আওয়ামী লীগ অধ্যুষিত এলাকা। সেখানে আমরা নোঙরখানা খুলেছি, ঢাকায়ও আমরা অনেককে আশ্রয় দিয়েছি। তখন ভয়ভীতির কারণে অনেকে চলে যেতে পারে। তারা দেশে আসতে চাইলে আমরা গ্রহণ করব।’
