Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi has stated that if he feels new government does not want his services, he will resign from the post without having a second thought.

The expected Prime Minister-to-be, Imran Khan accused the current PCB Chairman for rigging during 2013 general elections, who was the caretaker chief minister of Punjab at that time.

Sethi filed a defamation case against Khan after the allegations and the rift between the two men has not been a secret since then.

As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan’s party, won the general elections 2018, it was expected that their government will replace Najam Sethi as the chairman PCB.

The man, who made PSL a reality, is unsure about his status at the board and want clarity from the upcoming government.

“I will only work with dignity and honour,” said Sethi. “If I feel like the new government does not want my services, I will go home without a second thought,” Express Tribune quoted Najam Sethi.

“I don’t know about the current status myself. All I want is someone from the government to come and let me know if they want me to continue as the head of PCB or not. If their response is they don’t want me here, I will go home,” he added.

Sethi confessed that he is under pressure due to uncertain future and he is afraid that PCB operations might get affected by that.

“I won’t hide it that I am under pressure from sometime as there is uncertainty about my future, and that is the case inside the PCB as well where things are coming to standstill,” he stated.

Najam Sethi has played a vital role in making Pakistan Super League a successful brand. He is concerned about league’s future as it is going through a delicate transitional phase.

“I am just genuinely worried about the future of PSL,” he mentioned. “It is going through an important transitional phase in my opinion and it needs stability. Any uncertainty will lead to reduction in financial benefits we can have from the league’s broadcasting rights, title sponsorships and other deals,” he went on to say.

All the people giving credit of Pakistan's recent victories to Najam Sethi need to look at the results before and after Sarfaraz took over as Captain. Azhar Ali had the same team and PCB management but no success.
He did a good job starting PSL but now to make it profitable we need someone who actually understands marketing.

He did great job, after more then a decade Pakistani cricket again developed the team spirit to be champions again, he put right people at the right place, like miky arthur, inzmam etc. Team selection has been unexceptional, throwing out akmal's and shehzad and giving opportunity to youngsters, hell even hafiz is being sidelined as very good talent has been emerging, hard decisions have been taken, he has done very good job.

Don't distort facts Akmal was sent for champions trophy squad by Inzamam but Mickey sent him back after he failed fitness test, Shehzad was part of team even in Zimbabwe but they had to drop him cause of doping charge
and if you would look back when Pakistan lost the first match in champions trophy to India the same PCB which later claimed the victory as theirs said they would constitute a committee to find whose responsible for this loss. If you take Sarfaraz out of the equation you'll see team crumble back to where they were before him.
So stop giving undue credit, Sethi's only credit is PSL which needs better management now.

He and his wife were the main brains behind the PML-N strategy, to take on the state of Pakistan! Ofcourse his strings are pulled from outside. He should not only be booted out of PCB but put in behind bars for corruption in PSL and his role in 2013 elections, the 35 puncture saga.

A Marasi (a person who lives life by telling jokes) went to the leader his village and asked hand of leader's daughter for his son. Leader and his family members found this act offensive and beated Marasi for long and hard. And such is the condition of this guy Najam Sethi, who hafter having disgraced and insulted a lot, he is still unsure and wants to know if he is allowed to work or not.

Well, he crossed many Pakistanis to India for training who then took part in Balochistan insurgency. If that count....
