Featured If Hindus are in danger in India, it is because of its caste system

I was referring to the legalese since that is where the eradication of this system has been initiated. Constitutionally speaking, it has no place other than affirmative action in our political structure.

I've also acknowledged it's existence in social life, especially in marital relationships. Intercaste marriage remains a sensitive issue with many violent incidents associated with them. This is expected to subside with better urbanization, educational systems and upward mobility among the poorer strata of our society.

This system and the ills associated with it exist undeniably in our country, I'm positing that efforts to eradicate it do too and the onus for it is not only on the government but also on our citizens.

I mostly agree with you though on the point about better urbanization and educational system leading to even more removal of caste-biased practices, we should also look at the fact that the newly developed, urbanized and so-called educated middle class holds regressive and non-thoughtful ideas and practices, whether it be about the unquestioning acts of thaali-bajao-Corona-bhagao ( watch this ) or the barrage of hateful comments about the intellectuals / active progressives or the fact of the TV serial Naagin coming in for the fifth season or among Muslims the trend of burqa-fication and acceptance among young Muslim males of vile characters like Abu Faisal or the general apathy among the populace for the absolutely avoidable tragedy of suicides for socio-economic reasons.

India needs a revolution. Unlike in some other countries at various times in the past ( Russia, Libya, Venezuela, Pakistan etc ) the military in India does not seem to hold Leftist elements so the vanguard of revolution has to come in from other places, somehow. This is for the benefit of Indians.
