He pointed out that the DNA samples provided by India for Ajmal and Ismail, a terrorist killed in Mumbai, were identical and there was only a one-in-a-trillion chance of this happening in the case of twins. Therefore, a clarification had been sought from India, he said.

India should provide the information sought by Pakistan “as quickly as possible” as Islamabad wanted to bring the terrorists responsible for the attacks to justice.

Mumbai, Apr 14 (PTI) Strongly refuting claims of Pakistan, Special Public Prosecutor in 26/11 terror attack case Ujjwal Nikam today said the DNA samples of lone surviving gunman Mohammed Amir Ajmal Kasab and slain terrorist Mohammed Ismail were "totally different".
Nikam was responding to reports in a section of media which quoted Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik saying at a press conference in Pakistan that the DNA samples of Kasab and Ismail, provided by India, had turned out to be the same.

"DNA is biological fingerprint of an individual and no two persons anywhere in the world can have the same DNA profile except in case of biological twins," Nikam told PTI.

Kasab and Ismail are not twins and are also not biologically related to each other, he said.

In every human body there are 46 chromosomes in each cell... 23 are inherited from mother and the other 23 from father. Therefore no two individuals in any part of the world can have the same DNA pattern, the prosecutor pointed out.

The DNA samples of all the ten accused accused (Kasab and others who were gunned down by armed forces), taken by experts, had given totally different DNA patterns, Nikam said. PTI

New Delhi: India on Monday rubbished Pakistan’s demand for more information on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, saying Islamabad was indulging in “delaying” and “diversionary” tactics which put a “question mark” on its sincerity and intent.

“We have given sufficient evidence to Pakistan to act against identified masterminds. By delaying action and raising technicalities, Pakistan would be undermining the credibility of its own commitments to take tangible action,” Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma told PTI.

The indians say one thing about the DNA and the pakistanis something else.

Why not go through interpol and have pak-indo police at the heart of the team to stop any problems coming up during the investigation......a neutral third party could do that and dispell and ideas of “delaying” and “diversionary” tactics taking part.

The DNA samples provided by India for Ajmal and Ismail are different. Lets wait for the official conformation.

And then something else will turn up......whats wrong with the idea of a pak-indo police at the heart of a interpol team to "stop delaying and diversionary tactics taking part".

You could still have the indian investigation takes place alongside the joint investigation

LMAO. I was right, i'm telling y'all :D

India cannot provide the real DNA of Gupta, because it will prove a mismatch to those folk in Pakistan he claims to be from.

They let the mother go of course.

Would put a dent in their denials of the identity of the Kalava wearing Hindi speaking terrorist Gupta, you see :agree:

Those good old indian preconditions.....if its not kashmir its something else.

What has giving up "Dawood, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh & Others to India" have to do with investigating the mumbai attacks?

LOL.

Pakistan owns Ajmal Kasab | Pakistan | News | Newspaper | Daily | English | Online

The Associated Press: Pakistan takes another Mumbai suspect into custody

Pakistan only "owned" him because the DNA was sent to "neutral" third parties, and it was in the government's interest to "own" him.

The article, your own Hindu Times article is suggesting Pakistan never saw the DNA evidence until just now, and it would appear the DNA of Gupta was incorrect. That suggests to me a good chance of a cover-up.

There's no way that thing arose from Faridkot which was generally immune to immigrants.

We can't investigate together. I think we have no such agreements between us.

Lets wait another 2 days then we can debate about DNA of Gupta.
